The reason why these games are blowouts is vindication of a theory I’ve had my whole life, which is that these teams from the deep south couldn’t cut it playing in subzero freezing weather.
I grew up having to watch Nebraska lose bowl games in Florida every year and it angered me that they would never get the chance to host a significant game in December or January. I would have loved this so much in the 80s and 90s.
