College football thread

The Cyclones get up over the Kansas State Wildcats, in a pretty sloppy game. The rain in Dublin made it hard to hold onto the ball, with lots of drops and a couple of fumbles lost for both teams.

Nebraska defeats Cincinnati 20-17 after a late interception.

Max Fletcher (C) - 4 punts for 45.3 yard average, longest 52, 2 inside 20

Archie Wilson (N) - 4 punts for 36.8 yard average, longest 41, 2 inside 20.

Statistically a definite edge to Max, but Archie pinned Cincinnati inside their own 10 yard-line twice, one of which occurred right before a key turnover helped Nebraska take a 10 point lead before halftime. I would say both of them did their jobs more than adequately.

The game was a Cincinnati home game that they moved to Kansas City for a payout and so it was played at Arrowhead in front of Patrick Mahomes (who is the godfather of Nebraska QB Dylan Raiola) and, of course, Travis and Taytay.

My Noles currently leading Bama 24-7 in the 3rd. Hopefully we can hang on

Looking sharp, Bama honestly feel rattled

Noles hold on and win 31-17. Incredible win. 80k fans doing the chop. They invade the field as the game finishes. Insane scenes. Bama ranked 8 and Noles unranked. FSU’s new QB and offensive coordinator (Gus Malzahn) both very good. Tallahassee will be rocking tonight.

Great win, especially coming off the disaster of last season.

FSU dominated the line of scrimmage, and that was plenty.

OSU win a defensive battle against Texas. Arch Manning held and unproductive.

LSU getting a rough call or two against Clemson.

A TD taken off the board after being ruled incomplete, total nonsense.

It’s always a good day when Alabama and Texas both lose.

Miami take down Notre Dame in a tight one in Miami.
CJ Carr was driving for a tying FG attempt but got sacked twice (inc. a intentional grounding) to end it.

Miami looked very good to me, I loved their play style

They were good early, but let ND back into it in the 4th with far too conservative play-calling.

Oregon beat Montana State 59-13, but the most entertaining thing was the Duck mascot tripping over and literally having his head fall off.

I think they’ll learn from that hopefully, and keep a more offensive approach going forward.

Nice to see they’re still capable of playing an exciting brand. It makes you tune in

Yeah, hopefully they’ll use stronger velcro or something. Don’t want to be giving kids nightmares.

Bill Belichick’s NC Tar Heels struggling at home against TCU. 20-7 at h/t

Never good when you get alerts like this.

48-14, welcome to College Football, Bill!
