I can’t pass up the opportunity for an obscure sopranos reference
Technically I have the saucepan but I think that yes, it does the same thing. The Bessemer Dutch oven was just a great sized pot I always wanted. Might have to search the internets for one.
I like the oval shaped 27cm le Creuset or Chasseur enamelled cast iron. It gives a really nice shape to the loaf. They’re both expensive, especially the le Creuset, but we’ve had the Chasseur one for over 30 years and used it at least once a week during that time, and it’s still going strong.
Off to the game thread now.
A fair bit cheaper, would love a le creuset, but we have the Harris Scarfe enamelled cast iron cassarole pot & french pan.
Good value for a starter.
I love Le creuset and all the similar ones but they’re just too heavy for me.
Not much to work with today for breakfast so threw a scotch fillet and some eggs on the BBQ. A breakfast Elvis would be proud of.
We have a couple of the expensive ones but also a couple of the Aldi Crofton ones - they work just the same…
“You’re gonna need a bigger boat plate!”
Another vote for the Aldi versions.
Yeah and cost about a 1/10th…
Blitz when Aarts wasn’t penalised.
Yeap I had all the Aldi ones, they are great too. We threw a few out not long ago. But you have to wait till they are on sale and also have the ones you want.
Thought these were a good middle ground, they are not anywhere the marque brands.
I made the Chicken with sundried tomato and creamy sauce. It was absolutely delicious and full of flavour. While I was cooking it I had the whole family come out and were asking “when’s it going to be ready”. The whole family loved it and half way through dinner they were asking if we can have it again next week. Looks like it is the new family favourite. I used spinach leaves instead of basil leaves but has still great. We just had it on mash potato and with some broccoli.
That looks great!
It was great. Also I got a whole bunch of dumplings last week and when I went to the freezer today to get some they were all gone. They ate them all on me during the week and made that dipping sauce everytime
I love that!
My neighbour got dumped last week by his boyfriend and I have inherited dumplings in the break up because my neighbour doesn’t eat pork.
I love our little cooking community here on blitz. Sharing is caring
My Better Half demonstrating she can cook, whereas I can only follow recipes, by rummaging around in the remnants of the lockdown fridge and pantry and producing oven roasted pumpkin and pine nuts, garlic, fetta, olive oil and spag. And salad to boot. A feast for the taste buds.
Fantastic mate, glad you enjoyed!
Thanks for posting it. I have saved the recipe on my phone for next time👍.
I tried the sun dried tomato thing. But have a vego. No basil in the garden so used silver beet, kale and warrigal greens. I made it like a pasta sauce with mushrooms and pumpkin seared in a pan. Added separate chicken for the meat eaters. Worked well.
