Cool old stuff

Not sure if there is a thread on here already but admin can feel free to merge if not…

This officially licensed throw rug was mine as a young fella (I’m 33 now) and I feel like it perfectly represents the Bombers I knew growing up.

Anyway I just found it packed away as we’re in the process of moving house but thought it was cool to see early 90s team brand again and even cooler that it will become my 10 year old sons from now on…

Anyone else got old cool stuff floating around? Not necessarily footy related but obscure stuff with stories or personal connection is always fun…

I have been carrying this old but very valuable piece of laminated newspaper around for a long time, when I finally get a proper man cave it will take pole position.

Part of a set with all teams that the old man had back in the day:

A little rough around the edges, just like the club.

I had that bin in my room around '86/'87. I used it as an ashtray.
It was kinda filthy, now I think about it.

Anyone got a pic of @swoodley to add to the collection?

I have a full set of footy cards from 1988 and 1989.

My dad used to buy a box full at the end of the season, and give it to me for Christmas. and the guy in the newsagent was happy to get rid of his end of remaining stock.

Actually, I’m missing one card. Because, from memory I needed two more cards, and so wrote a letter to Scanlens and put 40c in the envelope. They sent me one of the cards I needed, But I had primary school hand writing, and instead of sending me the other card I wanted (number 114), they sent me Ray Jenke (card number 14, which I already had). Something like that.

I’ll dig them out and post a photo.
