If only all the other teams would send three men up to tap it down to our three front-and-centre forwards… Hell, sometimes we might even make Joe D or Carlisle be the pressure man standing behind the contest, instead of Stanton.
Pretty hard to cement your spot on the list when you don't get successive games in the side.
Makes it difficult when you feel you are playing for your spot rather than just playing the game. Reckon with more opportunity he could've been that feisty annoying small forward who bobs up for a couple of goals a game.
He would kick 2 or 3 and then get dumped never getting a fair crack at it
1) He never kicked 3 goals in a game.
2) His 2 goal games were in a 24 point win against Freo, 84 point win against Bulldogs, 50 point win against Port (all 2012) and 15 point win against GWS this year. I'd argue that 3 of the 4 weren't high class opposition.
3) As for the sub thing, he played 16 games and only 4 times played less than half the game, 1 of which was his debut (44% game time). 11 of his games he had more than 73% game time.
4) He averaged 1 goal and 9 disposals a game. If you exclude the games where he played less than 50% game time, his average only rises to 10 disposals per game. Hard to justify a spot on the list on those numbers.
Thanks Cory for your service. I'm sure you wore the jumper with pride & all the best for the future.
