What it shows is wages are not keeping up with cost of living.

Some are living beyond their means but it is unfair to suggest this broadly.

It’s interesting we expect people to have savings to account for potential crises but not big business. They are quick to put the hand out for assistance, where is the discussion about stock buybacks and CEO salaries.

Got this vision of someone going at you with extended handle garden shears from behind a table stood on it’s side

I spoke to my boss, she said I can work from home or the office, so I’ll take each day as it comes.

I’m just worried about my parents, my sis and 12 year old nephew live with them and my dad usually takes him to school. I’ve just told my sister I can do it instead, I don’t want him out and about.

You’re saving now humanity and therefore ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā–  the work more quickly.

They just extend you a pair of clippers on the end of a selfie stick.

In Singapore they release details on where every new case has been prior to their positive test. The government sends a WhatsApp message every night with the details and links to the new cases.

This is an example of the detail they provide:

About the confirmed cases

Case 244

Case 244 is an imported case involving a 53 year-old male Singapore Citizen who had been in Germany from 26 February to 29 February, Italy from 29 February to 7 March, and Switzerland from 7 March to 14 March. He is currently warded in an isolation room at the National Centre for Infectious Diseases (NCID). He is linked to Case 243.

He reported onset of symptoms on 7 March. He presented at the emergency department of Gleneagles Hospital on 15 March, and was referred to NCID on the same day. Subsequent test results confirmed COVID-19 infection on 16 March afternoon.

Prior to hospital admission, he had gone to work at a home office at River Valley Road. He stays at Alexandra Road.

It’s a joke, and one more about male behaviour than any misogynistic attitude.

I don’t expect people to be prepared for a crisis like this but I do think people should have enough saved to last a few weeks without pay.

My mate has one of those for cycling, from NSW and hasnt adjusted to Tassie winters even after like 5 years.

What about those on newstart?

they still get paid by the Govt.

Singapore’s cases are ticking up again but most of the new cases have been imported, i.e. travelers returning from Europe and US. There are even some cases of people purposely travelling to Singapore for treatment as they trust the healthcare here better than their own resident country.

They’ve already got a hike/stimulus package, from what I’ve heard.

It would be nice.

And it would be nice if people didn’t go troppo buying everything at once at supermarkets.

But here we are.

Ive seen that sort of detail for the Tassie cases, but not the mainland ones, im probably not looking hard enough.

It just isn’t a reality for some people. Lots of people doing it tough.
