Definitely agree that I’d rather spend my money overseas

East Gippsland could do with a couple of tourists.

What don’t you agree with on the local front? We don’t much detail but from here all I see is low cases, the lowest deaths & not locked down. Its hard to imagine you could have much to complain about.

Let’s just start with travelling more than 10km from our place of residence before we start talking about overseas travel I reckon.

How Un Australian. Our Tourism industry can do with every Dollar they can get right now, many are on their knees.

Fk spending o/seas. See more of your own Counrty and help save fellow Aussies from going to the wall.

It will help save us all in the long run if they need less Gov assistance through their fellow Aussies supporting them for the next few years.

Barely a case in months and masks mandatory everywhere, some of the restrictions on hotels an restaurants are a couple that I don’t agree with. A lot of rules and restrictions that just don’t make any sense and I’m not happy with the power that SA Health and Stephens has. I’m not in agreement with some of our border restrictions either especially with SA residents having to sleep in tents on the border whilst waiting 2-3 weeks for approval to return

Mallacoota, Omeo and the valley where Cassilis is would suit me well, any time of the year.

Why would Victorians want to support WA after they’be shut us out for what will be years and treated us like we’re a plague when we could fly to Thailand for the same price maybe even cheaper? I don’t owe anything to WA or QLD who are desperate for the tourist dollar. It’s incumbent on them to get to the vaccination rates to the point where they can welcome foreign tourism again. Because I sure as hell ain’t jumping through their hoops when I could head abroad and have an easier time. I won’t spent a cent outside of Victoria for awhile, years, out of principle.

Whilst I agree to some extent we have had 2 years locked here and that should have been a tourist boom but most people are scared to book anyway for fears of borders being closed at the drop of a hat. We have been lucky as we have still managed to go to the NT, TAS and QLD aswell as several trips to Victoria and NSW with only some minor inconveniences but others I know have cancelled trips 5 or 6 times and have simply given up. They will spend their money OS now as there is no guarantees that some states still won’t stuff us around next year. As a Victorian you would have more chance of going to London than you do Perth in the next 6 months I think

I’ll be spending my money in areas of Australia that have been devastated by years of bushfires and then copped Covid on top of that. Coastal areas of Victoria (East Gippsland) and the South Coast / Sapphire Coast of NSW. Everyone forgets that those areas already lost a tourist season even pre covid.

Any time you spend money, you should think about how you can spend it ethically, not just whatever’s easiest for good old number one.

Un-Australian LOL

I’ll give you a tip, I’d rather be in Europe than go to Queensland and see the misfits down Cavill Ave

Thats probably sadly accurate. Travel industry needs certainty & domestically there is none.

Couldn’t agree more. They deserve our money before another state let alone country.

I feel like sending this article to a few of my vaccine resistant friends. It’s just so eloquently written :joy:

It’s a big state. Pretty easy to avoid Caville Ave

As I said earlier, I won’t be going to Queensland any time soon. I’m more than happy to travel regional in Victoria, and do so regularly. However I reckon you’ll find most people can’t wait to travel internationally post covid. Some of the states here made us feel like lepers last year and only allowed those will money in to their states. I don’t owe them a thing

If Victorians were to personally boycott travel to anywhere that’s made “bad” pandemic decisions… not many places left in the world to visit!
