COVID-19 - politics, blame and point scoring goes here

Lost count - at one point it seemed all of Grattan St was a construction site.

Melbourne has always in my experience been the centre of protest in our Nation.

Started with Eureka Stockade, and grew to Melbourne as a fight against authority, with ironically many protestors finding a pathway into parliaments. Many started at University or work sites, and not all have been Left in nature, and many have been violent.

Because these protests against vaccination are less rational, we generally dismiss them as nutters, but maybe this is a bit trite and we should look harder at who is agitating to make them happen. ScoMo is the only potential winner.

There were the out of towners protesting against the mosque in Bendigo.

  • misrepresented as locals opposed to Muslims.

So Ballaarat must have been an outer Melbourne suburb in the old days?

There was also out of towners protesting against the McDonalds in Tecoma.

Frydenberg tweets that the Pandemic Bill is overreach, but condemns protesters for depicting Dan as Hitler in Nazi uniform.
How does he feel about the gallows and nooses, threats to MPs?
How does he feel about State Lib MPs whipping up the crowds?

Still is

And there was well over 100,000 people protesting Vietnam War in Melbourne from all over the State.

Same with environmental protests.

They could have worse things to protest about…

The Victorian Coroner’s Inquest into the St Basils deaths should be the most independent in respect of findings, as it will be conducted in accordance with the legislated authority of the Coroner, without being hamstrung by politically manipulated terms of reference.

  • although, as is occurring already, there will be MSM clickbaits quoting comments out of context
    • such as the Hun’s headline about Sutton’s shocking decision to furlough staff.

The deaths in Victorian Aged Care have been previously addressed in the interim report of the Aged Care RC and the Commonwealth commissioned independent review of St Basils and Epping Gardens . The latter has been criticised for its narrow terms of reference, which inhibited its independence to conduct an extensive review.

Again, imagine if these people spent their clearly useless time protesting about climate change, instead of laws they don’t understand
