I think NSW has always seemed in control and have been in the past.

Right now they have admitted it’s off the chain and it’s a dangerous variant.

Tighter restrictions in Sydney have served to save the NSW regionals from being banned by other States - could have hit hard for school holidays.
Wonder what the rules are for kids boarding in schools in the 7 LGAs

Not sure what it means for Mr & Mrs Humble but their plane’s return flight QF744 Adelaide → Sydney has just been cancelled

Virgin flight also on the way from Sydney due to arrive in 45 minutes

Yep. Reckon that regional border will likely be extended to all to Metro Sydney by the end of the week.

GET YOUR HANDS OFF MY ■■■■■!!!

Due to passenger flight cancellations?

How effective for the LGA lockdowns be? Remember in Vic we did suburban lockdowns and that was a huge failure, can an LGA lockdown work in Sydney? How many roads would need to be blocked off for it to work?

Could they just do the ring of steel and block off as many roads as possible (block all road would be impossible)

Tell them @em2009 will go on a shopping strike if you are not let in. That should do the trick.

That or they are holding it to send back the passengers from the just arrived flight

Combination of both.
Loading was poor as it was and they would be using it to ferry folk back. There may be others that arrived earlier today that may have been notified and put on it also

I think Dubbo has bit more going on than Snowtown. Maybe except for serial killing.

Gladys said NSW people do the right thing. No mention of PT specific restrictions, but they could reduce PT timetables , have checks at depots etc.
7 LGA livers and residers ordered not to leave ( with exemptions) others only requested not to enter. Could be a few Fed MPs and staffers wanting to come home after Parliament rises.

Council restrictions worked for the northern beaches over Christmas. Think it’s going to struggle this time given how spread out the cases are.

Personally I’m not looking forward to wearing a mask in the office.

Just a side note. The largest Indian community in Sydney is not an LGA with the delta strain.

:v: And if your outside one of those 7 LGA’s can visit and get a mean Biryani or Tikka Masala.

LOL.
The NSW way is so different.
They rely on the other states to enforce the border.
During their xmas outbreak, they restricted access to the cricket game for certain LGAs in January but the only enforcement was spot checks by police. No road blocks as far as I’m aware.

Try something like that here and see how compliant people will be…
