COVID-19 Round 13 - IT'S NOT A RACE!

Recommended gap between Pf doses is 3 weeks.
They are looking to extend to 6 because of a) lack of supply and b) more 1st jab coverage / protection.
Problem is 1st jab efficacy is much reduced against Delta.

I assume you mean AZ. ScoMo suggested this not long ago. ATAGI responded immediately to say no, please don’t do this. Efficacy data from overseas has been shown to be reduced when the time period between doses is reduced. That strategy is flawed.

What if we just removed all the ACT places near a roundabout?
Would that be okay?

Edit: Also, much thicker skin than Radelaidians.
Well done.

I stand by my post. But any further discussion should be taken to the appendage vs appendages thread.

There’s low compliance! Send in the tanks!

Problem solved.

agree - I know there is angst over the cases, and yes we have cases in hospital and ICU, but the numbers are still lowish. So relative to our situation we don’t need to do this and weaken the level of downstream community protection.

The focus should be on getting more first shots done as they give a good level of protection in their own right.

I empathise with what NSW are going through, they absolutely do not deserve to be in the situation that they are in, which was entirely avoidable.

But the sweet, sweet schadenfreude I experience when watching that video is hard to describe.

Should have taken the straight line up the coast, I mean it won’t be fully developed by 2023, but will be wonderful, the 9000 mile beach.

Someone posted recent data further up in this thread, that a single dose of Pfizer, with enough time to age, can have over 90% against Delta. It is suspected that the lower protection rate seen in the community is due to the short time frame between doses meaning that most people who are infected after only one dose, are being infected 1 week or 2 after being immunised.

Tik Tok leak gets plugged.
Anyone going to do anything about the exclusive to the Hun last night on TGA approval for 12yo?

I agree, but uninformed politicians are trying to bully ATAGI into changing their standards, Gladys today urging people to listen to Kerry instead of ATAGI. Then they’re also suggesting shorter time frames between vaccinations. They’re trying to find a band-aid solution that will potentially cause us problems with efficacy down the track.
