It’s just a mathematical estimate. You can of course disagree with the methodology or question the chart’s utility but it’s never wrong per se, it just spits out an trend based on the data going in. Clearly there’s been an uptick in recent days that wasn’t predicted by the previous trend.
And it’s posted online by a software developer, so they’re not getting paid.

The green shoots only lasted one day, followed by “What I had foreshadowed”, with an accidental extra foreshadowed in the next sentence in place of the correct word.
