COVID-19 - Round 4 - diseaseologists welcomed

I’m gonna suggest she would very much be the outlier.

Any chance she caught it from somebody at the end of their infectious period who also caught it at the end of another persons infectious period who also caught it at the end of another persons infectious period who also caught it at the end of another persons infectious period who also caught it at the end of another persons infectious period?

You’d have to think it’s a possibility but definitely being reported as a the 10 week incubation at the moment.

agree. You can’t lock up 15,000 incoming Australians for weeks on end because of an outlier.

If the science presented so far is right she would have been infectious for 4-10 days of that time. If she’s been distancing like she should have been we hope the damage is minimal.

Hopefully she wont get sun burnt either. Shouldn’t she be wearing a hat?

One new case in SA

The South Australian chief health officer, Professor Nicola Spurrier , has reported that there is a new case of coronavirus in the state, from a woman in her 50s who had come into the state from Victoria.

“I know this might come as quite a surprise to many people because we have had so many days now with no cases,” she said. “But it is a very timely reminder to everybody in the state that Covid-19 is here, it is in Australia, and we have to continue to be vigilant.”

Spurrier said that the woman had recently returned from overseas, and was in quarantine in Victoria.

She was then given an exemption for family and compassionate reasons to come into South Australia, to continue her quarantine. Spurrier says it was a “very, very compelling reason”.

She also adds that the woman has “very mild symptoms”. People on the plane near her will be contacted for contact tracing.

haha SA,
Love from Victoria.

You’re welcome.

There’s plenty more from where that came from, just ask.

The report said the Federal authorities gave permission for the ship to dock.
But, in regard to the Ruby Princess, IIRC, Outram of Borderforce said the decision to dock rested with NSW Harbour authority.

The tense of that last sentence, if accurate, is interesting. Don’t tell them at the time, or even when they get off the plane: they might react.

You would think if she is allowed to be exempted from quarantine to go to SA that they would take precautions on her travel to SA. Ridiculous. You would be ■■■■■■ if you got it off her on the trip to SA.

I’m livid and I wasn’t even on the plane. It’s essentially an overseas quarantine exemption. Didn’t know those were allowed?

Didn’t really come from Victoria though did it.

Just have a quiet chuckle at SA’s expense.

She isn’t even an Australian citizen so perhaps she was coming for a funeral?
