It should have been treated exactly the same as if one doctor or nurse in a hospital was infected. Stop everything. Change over all the staff. Clean the joint. Couldâve even just relocated to a new hotel.
It also sounded like they were escorting people outside for fresh air etc. when early on, and in other states it seemed like it was literally locked in a hotel room for 12 days.
When I drove past one of the hotels the quarantinees stay in over here, I saw a fence around the grass area outside. Iâm assuming itâs so they can let them out for walks?
Iâm a fan of the VIC gov, but I reckon they need to wear some of this.
They, the government, have one job right now. And they contracted it out, presumably with little to know oversight at the hotel from experts. As soon as there was one positive, they needed to shut the whole thing down.
Happy to wait for the review, but for now it looks like they dropped the ball, by relying on a contractor.
