SOS was a good assistant coach, good list manager at GWS and did reasonably well at Carlton until he was forced out. Wouldn’t be the worst decision just from a resume perspective.

I keep coming back to this part of the statement:
“The football department requires an experienced leader to oversee the next critical stage of our football program’s growth and provide important support to Ben Rutten, who we have great confidence in as our senior coach.”
The same overriding principles could easily apply to Campbell in terms of substituting him into the narrative.
“Xavier was a wonderful performer in the financial sectors of the Club during the crisis years of 2014-2016. But what the football club needs now is an experienced hand with a track record of getting footy department selection processes and daily protocols correct, thereby allowing the EFC to move forward on it’s core business.” Which isn’t winning an Esports title, incidentally.

Leaving aside the fact that I think Browneye is an absolute ■■■■, that would have to be one of the most grammatically inept things I’ve ever read. It makes Slobbo seem like a Rhodes Scholar by comparison.
