Oh I 100% agree. I was just playing devil’s advocate. From everything I’ve heard, all signs point towards there being no plan for a coach handover. This was a move to keep the current adminstration cemented in, and was always the plan. Just brought up a little earlier due to some unrest

So we force the removal of a President in large measure for supposedly short circuiting the due process in a coaching application and unilaterally extending the contract of said coach , then the new President is the old VP who was on the board for the contract extension , and who supposedly plans to oust the extended coach and unilaterally appoint James Kelly without a due process selection criteria and applicants.

Yep.
To me this is more about moving the person who berated an ex-player and legend of the club so that can’t be used.
The onus is on the board ticket to actually show what they can actually do and where they want take us than continually point at how bad the current board are.
I know we all think anyone else could do better than the current group. But we know th curren group won’t go back to Dodoro and has at least changed every department at the club whilst there. A new one can undo any of those appointments.

The really, really, really annoying thing is this.

For 20+ years Essendon has fought tooth and nail to avoid a proper rebuild.

It’s not the Essendon way.

We haven’t won a final in exactly that long.

Coincidence, obviously.

Through circumstances totally beyond the control - let alone planning - of Barham, we’re lurching into one now. Ffffffinally.

And that’s going to be what rolls him. Not the blatant nepotism. Not the disaster of captain churchman. Not the failed Klakko chase. It’ll be the open acceptance of the R word.

Welsh (and expect _plenty_ more “Essendon people” to pop their heads over the parapet in the coming 2 months) is rumbling along in the background to pull the handbrake on that rebuild. When he gets in - and it’s when, not if - expect golden boy, Kev, Disco and a hundred others to get all excited for more of that same. Expect a big name acquisition. Expect 8th or maybe even 7th.

It’s the Essendon way.

I’m far from all in on Barham. But I think a change at the top prior to trade/draft would be disastrous.

This draft/trade period can actually set us up for a push.

So let’s get Michael Quinn on the board? Simple. He can keep Welsh in check.

I was told yesterday afternoon that this would happen. Barham has been pushed out as he is protecting Scott. The aim for Welsh coming in is to remove Brad Scott and replace with James Kelly. This is to happen in a few weeks time. I didn’t believe this at the time, however the first part of Welsh replacing Barham has come true on the timelines I was told.
