David Barham - Our new Board Overlord

I wonder if he will come back in here and answer question now?

Would not have the stones for that, go hide in your ivory tower like the rest, fraud.

He got sucked into the last question IMO but that was about it. What else can he actually say that he didn’t say? He said yeah, we went after Clarko and didn’t handle Rutten situation the greatest, soz. I think that’s really all he can say.

The handling of the approach to Clarkson though, awful.

He handled in a awful way, no preparedness, no plan, no vision to tell the supporter why they caused the debacle. Was ad hoc, defensive and unimpressive give our situation.

All it would have taken is a word to Truck after Sundays game.

The board are going to probably want to sound out Clarkson after that performance, and Truck knew it was bad…very bad.

By being incompetent in their handling of it it’s ironically given Truck a bit of a life line.

If the players really CARE about their coach , they will show it in the first quarter of the game.

And Rutten has no excuse, he’s coaching against Dimma. He knows exactly what to expect.

"I fully accept he’s made a decision to go to North Melbourne and congratulations to them, well done. Tough on Ben, for sure. But that’s the sort of thing that we have to do and I have to do for this club improve and get better and go forward."

Essendon champion and former club coach James Hird has been linked as a possible contender to return to the top job, but Barham said he had not spoken to the 49-year-old.

“I’m not sure what Hirdy’s got to do with it, to be honest. I haven’t spoken to him. Does he want to [coach]? I haven’t asked him,” Barham said.

Barham described himself as an “agent for some sort of change” but said no roles were under review. He said the Bombers’ board of directors would need to “look at itself” and that he would meet with long-term chief executive Xavier Campbell about his position.

“Xavier’s fine. Xavier and I need to sit down and have a long chat. Because when you have a new president, him and I have not had time to sit down. I don’t know how he feels about me,” he said. “Xavier and I have a lot of work to do in the next few months.”

Other than the terrible Clarkson approach, I couldn’t be upset with any of these comments.

Did this guy just rock up to the club on sunday?..for the first time ever

Gave me the impression he has no idea what’s gone on

This guy shouldn’t be to blame RE Clarkson, he was made president 4 days ago. He didn’t seem to have an effing clue in the presser, and hopefully that is a one-off with him, but it isn’t solely his fault Clarkson wasn’t pursued until Mon/Tues this week though.

So X held off as long as he could to approach Clarkson, it’s like he wanted to give his man Truck every opportunity to hang on.

I have heard more intelligent statements from pi$$ed punters at urinals.

Has balls - tick. But hope it’s not another Paul Little situation. How is it a massive club like ours doesn’t have any high profile supporters, Collingwood, Carlton, Richmond all have them, ours is Nick Gianopololous lol.

Don’t forget RoCo (the teetotaller).

Anyway, isn’t Little Paul high-profile enough ? He was boss of the Toll Group from 1986 to 2011. Do we really need another like him ?

He’s just interfered in the operations of the club with a half baked plan that has failed

He has to go. No two ways about it. This is an asteroid sized ■■■■-up and his position is untenable

There needs to be a complete clean out. There just has to be.

It literally is.
His faction made the approach.

When? And how is it that he is solely to blame?

How are X and Brasher not more responsible?

Spot on.

Exactly. We had plenty of opportunity to go all in with Clarko when we were 2-10 with supporters tearing their hair out.

We probably got word that a Clarko decision was eminent so had to move fast to even get a look in. Administration shat themselves and put together a half assed bid.

Brashers stubbornness cost us a real shot at Clarko, not the ■■■■ show of the last four days

Barham just took it where it should have gone at 2-10 but all roads lead back to stupid Brasher. One of the greatest opportunities and we ■■■■■■ it up the wall because Brasher and his clique wanted status quo. Least Barham had the balls to do something

Because they didn’t do it?

I don’t get what your angle is here?

Truck seems to think we are on the right path.

He’s 39 and worked under Dimma who rates him highly.

His win loss record for a coach starting out with a basket case is about right.

Keep Rutten.
