David Barham - Our new Board Overlord

And you’re kidding yourself if we don’t love it; we put on so many commercial requests that don’t do our on field success any favors.

I know its good to be able to come on Blitz and rejoice or vent, but maybe you are overestimating the importance of Blitz.

bloody hell he is not as impressive as id imagined.

I suppose he’s doing something.

I thought he was a bit fishy about the James Hird question, but tom brrowne smells fishy so it was understandable.

the was one of the worst trainwrecks of an interview i have ever seen.

PLEASE can someone with a bit of power and backing completely oust the board and all the higher ups at the club. And start completely new

I truly mean this, if it wasn’t for Blitz and this community- I would of said goodbye to Essendon by now.

The press conference just showed there is no Plan B. It could go anywhere. Interesting times.

What bit I heard of it was actually honest, not X style management word salad.
You know. “driving” this or that ( standards and improvement yada yada)

Huge, shouldn’t be anywhere near it.

But it’s staggering to see how many people keep chanting “ohh I love what wily old Sheeds did there!” whenever he rants something

Absolutely agree. If he had integrity, he would be on Blitz occasionally asking if we had any questions/suggestions, at least make some effort to do so. But no, he did it only when we needed our votes and went AWOL afterwards. The type of guy who’d have never visited Blitz if it wasn’t for the purposes of helping him get on the board.

That press conference though, next level LOL. Trainwreck would be polite.

The guy has done irreparable damage, and he has only been here since Monday. He also is diabolical in front of the media. FARK OFF ■■■■!!!

I thought Barham was pretty honest. Which is a good thing.

Also incompetent in actions and so disconnected from the actual club and playing group though.

It was mostly apologies. Didn’t sound presidential at all.

Not in control of the situation and clearly does not have control of the board.

OK everyone has called for an end to Presidents who talk but never say anything , CEOs that regurgitate the same management speak ■■■■, along comes this bloke and is 100% natural, up front, apologises, accepts blame and you all criticise his interview. Put yourself in his position, under pressure of at least 8 people firing questions.

Everyone has called for a leader who actually makes hard decisions, a change agent.

I would suggest that this guy is more of a change agent than Paul “Softly softly"Brasher or Lindsay"Mr Invisible” Tanner, or even Paul “keep the club afloat” Little.
He may not last but he has shaken the place up and maybe thats what Truck and the Players need.

@dbbomber when are you and the rest of the board going to resign and give us our club back?

A decade of decline followed by a decade of disaster.

Give someone else a go

They’re going to do a George Costanza and come in on Monday pretending nothing happened, aren’t they?

He was put into into power on Monday because of a totally useless former president. What else can he do?

He could start by saying that the external review will include reviewing people’s positions and not just getting PWC to provide us with some ‘data’.

Gee ya reckon.

Gotta laugh, how inept was brash for this clown to take over.

He has to go. It doesn’t matter how long he has been in charge.

He has completely farked us in 5 days.

Half the problem is people hear what he says and go “ohh, crazy Sheeds, out stirring the media again”.

He knows (a) the insane amount of sway - granted, some of it deserved - he holds at Essendon and (b) exactly what he wants.

He needs to go because he has vested interests, and the internal sway to actually make them happen.
