Bought this PW50 for my son 3 years ago (he is 9 now, youngest nearly 4) i am handy outdoors, building stuff. Love motorsport. Its my life along with outdoors, camping etc. But im not mechanically minded

Eldest lost interest, had another son, then thought i should rebuild this whole thing. It spent 2 yeara disassembled with me being depressed , in the last two weeks i have completed it. It has had a ground up rebuild. Engine to suspension to nuts and bolts.

Well nearly, i had to use a few old bolts etc. Still has graphics to go on. It has been built as a replica of a 80’s PW50 - but they have barely changed over 30 years

Stripping it - easy. Building it again, FMD. Youtube was my saviour. One motorcross related youtube channel basically had a step by step guide, saved me

Anyway, i thought when i started this tonight it would blow up considering i have never rebuilt a motor. Well….it runs. It runs good

Rewarding. I honestly didnt think i could do this. I credit youtube. First photo is today, last photo is how i bought it

Great job!!

I’d forgotten that they were shaft drive.

Looks awesome. Do the decals include Marlborough sponsorship like the GP bikes of the time?

Youtube is great for stuff like this.

Broke into my own file cabinet the other day as i forgot where I put the keys. Youtube showed me how.

If youtube was so good, it should have shown you where you put the keys.

That’s great @westozziebomber. I just got some random old bricks and made some new garden beds with my dodgy bricklaying skills. Used to be a big dirt and weeds kind of area when we bought the house. Waiting for some topsoil to arrive before we put in the trees:

That’s sick!

My sister had a pw 50 of that vintage! What a great little bike they are.

Ive always wanted to give bricklaying a go. Id love to build a pizza oven

This is a 2005 but ive built it off the original “zinger” pw50, this colour specifically mid 80’s. I just wanted something different than a modern looking PW

The best thing about them is they have remained basically unchanged since forever. Lots of interchangable parts

Good job WOB. You need to finish it off now and should model it on their Dakar bikes or the original Tenere 600.

Mine doesn’t look this neat anymore but to me they are a great looking bike and I have had mine since new in 1983.
