Dons v Cats - TUES 25th 7.10pm @ the Cattery

Because dodoro got conned by shaw?

Yer but…Pando, and cliched corporate speak.

Save your breath…he’d win the Brownlow and Norm Smith in one year and they’d still hate him. The same people who are the most angry at the club’s standards hate a player who according to all at the club (the ones who see it daily) is as professional and committed to lifitng standards as Zach. Whover said that he proabably does 8 good thinngs to 1 bad is about right. And where the “soft” thing comes from is bewildering

It’s because he panic hb’s at times when tackled or under pressure from multiple players.
It’s a fear of HTB, not physical softness.

This guy will play 280 games for the club, will be recognised by experts as one of the best small defensive players of his era, and he will still be considered a useless pudding to a wide selection of Essendon fans. No amount of convincing will make them change their mind, and in the end that’s fine.

I will admit I don’t think he’s a particularly noteworthy #1, but he’s a fantastic player.

McGrath often first to the ball with little support. Looking at the Geelong game I think we would all say Merrett’s game was good and his disposal elite. He probably had more missed disposals by foot than McGrath. I would cut them both a little slack because Geelong like all good teams are elite at intercepting
McGrath hate is pathetic. He bleeds and gives his all for the team.
Perhaps the haters might consider support and encouragement instead of venting and criticising in absolutes

Whoa there… that is going a little too far for some…

My favorite highlight was Goldstein punching the ball through for a point. That one got me aroused.

They need to suck it up. McGrath might play till he is 35🙂

I hope McGrath has a messy bedroom.
Like can’t see the carpet for all the clothes on the floor messy.
And Muscle Nation wrappers everywhere.

I’ve calmed down now. I mean, hey, if people don’t like a player then they don’t like a player. I’ve always been very defensive of any player in red and black - came very close to a punch on with a fellow EFC supporter once because he was bagging Che Cockatoo Collins. It’s a tribal thing.

I’m just happy that we’re heading into season 2025 with some semblance of hope, which is something (I think) we can all agree on.

If anything McGrath is a breath of fresh air compared to some of our previous small lock-down specialists, such as Henry Slattery.

I thought Geelong moved the ball brilliantly and quickly with run from the back at times, but failed to convert it not so much through our defence, but through missing the last kick inside 50 or a fumble. More their muckups than us preventing the fast transition.
Although, overall, we did pressure pretty well.
In the current game, the best teams can run it and deliver it superbly, and you just can’t prevent it once they are out. Our challenge is to have good enough skills to be able to do it as well as the best.

Brisbane would need to throw in a second rounder.

Slattery for all his faults was a pretty good lock down defender, and was very tough and more than happy to put his head over the ball and cop hits

The only Coleman I’d trade Kako for died in 1973.
