Dons v Port @ Marvel this Sunday 12.20pm [spec on flogging]

Before I watched the BIG VIG yesterday, I was all in on #1 in the draft and wanted to see General Soreness on the march at selection this week. But the tune has changed and I think a big win will give the younger players a confidence boost before launching into preseason.

Unbelievable that we are still a chance to not finish bottom. This is a historically bad year for us, and talk of a priority pick has been thrown around.

Thankfully (or not thankfully, depending on your view) there isn’t a clear cut number 1 pick, so I don’t think winning does us any harm.

It really depends on the team selection whether I’ll be happy with a win or not. Prefer to not see guys who aren’t going to be there next season.

Potential ins

Durham in if right to go.

Johnson in (stiff to go out. But solid again in the 2s other then some dumb stuff in the last quarter on the weekend)

Tsatas in if not now then when?

El Hawli in probably leapfrogs Johnson based on performance on the weekend

Blakiston in ONLY IF BRYAN COMES OUT. He’s not playing back and he’s not replacing VIGO.

Interesting f on a psychological point of view to see if Vigo is ready to go up against THE INFERNO.

do you reckon anyone would notice if we just picked Sellers and sent him out in number 4 or 23?

Some at Port think Dante’s Peaked as a Ruck and are they are now trialing him as a defender

Man this is gonna be the biggest send off game ever.

Cox/Reid/Perkins/Tsatas/Nguyen/McGrath/Merrett/McKay/Redman/Blakiston/Edwards/Jones/McMahon/Solomon/Parish/Fiorini/Gresham/Ridley all playing their last games for Essendon.

I’m going to the game so I’d like a win please.

The backline needs some help, if only we could throw in Sellers. Other than that I’ve got no answers on how to bolster the back 6.

Edit: Release Nguyen to the back pocket?

Port are finishing the season in a very Essington way. Basically finishing the season a train wreck.

Essendon must be some sort of chance next week. They might be a Durham short of a likely win. Or, if Butters returns they are underdogs.

I sense it’s an even money game. If they start well they will probably get over the line.

Out: Merrett (sore eye and going to Hawthorn), 2MP (managed), Zach Reid (cotton wool)

In: Guelfi, Gerryn, work experience kid

Duz stays out

I’m worried we win this game now. I wasn’t a couple of weeks back but I am now. As quite a few have mentioned already having pick 1 this off season is critical from a trade/delisted players and picks perspective (more than the player we’ll pick at 1). Sorry Solly, but McGrath’s milestone can be celebrated in 50-odd games time!

Win the game boys.

Avoid the SPOON :spoon:

Blitzers can come at me in 3 years time when the No.1 Pick is a star and our No. 2 Pick is worse than Tsatas.

I don’t know why anyone is worried we will win this game… when is the last time we won a milestone match?
