Ever since Lual I’ve kind of wondered if Brad was cynically debuting all these players to pump the debutant stat and make this seem like much more of a ridiculous write off season than it should otherwise be.

I can’t think of a worse team we’ve fielded in my time watching Essendon. There is just nobody there except maybe Durham you’d back to beat their opponent.

He will be playing after 20 mins anyway. Langford is almost guaranteed to injure himself. There is no way he is AFL game fit.

That should be such an un Essington thing to do though.
Reduce chances of those late season wins that mess around with the pesky draft position we’ve worked hard on.
In all honesty though, team selection hasn’t been a worry. The only team we’ve been even a semi decent chance to play was Richmond and we still came close to beating them.
Their premiership players playing that night should realise just how worthless that win was to them.

There is no good reason to hold confidence of winning but it’s exactly the sort of game St Kilda could implode in after winning a few.
If West Coast can beat them potentially anyone can.
Hobbs and Perkins following Goldy around in the middle has a real VFL vibe to it.

What percentage level are you thinking?
The ‘mum and Dad’ bloc in my neck of the woods gave up on the season months ago and aren’t particularly focused on the number of debutants.
More concerned about their ability to get to AFL level.

I’m guessing that Johnson won’t play any ones next year as he will have “something to work on” though we’ll never know what that is.
Then he will be playing for Hawthorn in 2027.

Yeah, maybe not the best label. I was trying to think of a description for the category of supporters who are less heavily invested in the submerged part of the Essendon iceberg but definitely engaged with Facebook pages and social media spin.
