Dons v Swans - Sunday 4.40pm @ the G

Brocken cheek I reckon

You sir, make a good point

OK, honourable loss, well done lads, that takes care of the develop the squad stuff, now we TANK like there’s no tomorrow, because if we beat Port next week because of you there is no tomorrow, you can ā– ā– ā– ā–  right off. New coach next week and he’s going to be ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā–  if you ā– ā– ā– ā–  it up. Problem is Port are shitte, so we have to be even more shitte. Only play decent players if they are injured. Play the kids, literally the under 12s if the AFL let us. Merrett’s going so send him out in the 2s, blood some dud from the 2s we don’t want anyway. Caddy, Vigo, 2m Pete etc need rests, the poor things. It’s in our hands, Bombers. Please don’t ā– ā– ā– ā–  this up. Any chance a dose of something nasty goes through the team this week?

Of course we won the last three quarters… nominally a loss of the weekend on percentage, and the senior wheelchairs have now lost two GFs by a single point… but back-to-back premierships!!!

Looks like nobody can be bothered starting a review thread, so we now have reviews in the match thread.

It wasn’t as bad as I expected. We were easily disposed of, but there were a lot of positive signs. The positives do not include our key backs; Reid is possibly a third tall back, but that’s about it. There’s nobody else.

The on-baller kids were pretty good. Visentini is a winner; I wonder why it took so long to play him. Sharp is a fighter.

Caddy really needs a good kick up the bum. Half the time he just trots around having a casual fly at the ball from time to time, but he is not a hard worker and he needs to become one. Kako began badly but got better. Day-Wicks needs to do more. Peter Wright is one-dimensional but in that dimension he’s pretty good.

I don’t get the downs that so many on this site have for certain players. Langford is a whipping boy, and yes, he does make errors, but he’s a damn good player. McGrath played an excellent intercept role in defence and at the same time kept Tom Papley, one of the best small forwards in the AFL, to 10 disposals and zero impact.

Backwards kicks in our defensive half should be outlawed. We are never in a position to make a positive switch, and those kicks just keep us under pressure and usually result in a turnover. In a better team a switch can work, but not in our team.

2 wins in the last 35 games not enough for you to see the light?

Best performance by Bombers I have seen this year. Lots to like about many odd the Players.

I felt better about that performance. Syd certainly more skilled but we continued to create chances and positive situations but skills, and execution let us down.

A major problem is we can’t play 4 quarters. 2 or 3. That should improve with experience. The young players are very encouraging.

Prior has surprised me. Setters definitely should be retained. Reid is more of a good CHB, but not FB. Visentini is a great surprise. Another mid for me, but not inside mid, followed by a key backman.
