Jobe was a great footballer

What would it be if it were to be disaggregated to set shots from marks and degree of difficulty?
Hope we have dispensed with the long bomb over Tippa’s head with no other Essendon player in sight, just a tall opposition player behind Tippa.

Reckon at least 8 of our Anzac day goals were snaps

Any stats of snaps from Collingwood?

Nah I’m just doing it from memory and I’ve already purged all the Collingwood goals

Yep Jobe also said Stringer wasn’t in the first couple of centre bounces and then made a difference when he went in for the 3rd one. But he was in there for the first two.

look - i guess it all just depends on how you interpretate the stats

AND Magpies got umba frees inside 50…Bombers got SFA

Apparently DeGoey has a few going around based upon the internet, not sure of the number though so I can’t provide stats.

So is efficiency based on scoring shots or number of goals per inside 50’s?

Every Collingwood goal was either close or directly in front it’s why they were able to kick 8-1 whilst all our goals were from snaps or tight angles.

Like Jobe said our forward 50 entries were messy so we had to resort to snaps. Our delivery inside 50 needs to be fixed we cant rely on high bombs hoping some one marks it or snaps to kick a score.

Well the stats he was using was based on scoring shots.

Here you go guys. Overall shot accuracy

Collingwood with the better on paper percentage. However, once difficulty is factored in:

Both sides with higher than average expected scores - but ours is better. My quick guess is that Tippa’s accuracy boosts our numbers pretty heavily - although sharp shooting from 2MP, Dev, and Phillips also contributing.

Very dark times indeed however IMO not quite as bad as 17 seasons without a finals win, the Saga & a captain having a Brownlow revoked.

@ivan - Stringer may have been in the centre the first 2-3 ball-ups but like Jobe I thought he wasn’t there till the 4th bounce. He seemed invisible, but from the 4th Stringer’s impact helped change the game’s momentum - all credit to Stringer for imposing himself when we needed him!

Iirc he changed his starting position from the southern stand side to the members side
