Dumb Questions Amnesty

I get them purporting to be from Australia Post, recently two within five minutes. They are seeking to harvest personal information ,
They are scams which can be reported.
Don’t click on the false Australia Post contact listed.

APG won’t ever send you anything like that so you know it’s a scam immediately

Why was I swooped by a Magpie in early July ?
It’s not swooping season.

Also, presumably it came from behind but struck on the forehead just above the eyebrow.
How does that work ?

Claws/feet?
Whatever those monster birds have.

Thanks for the heads up

Unless bltn can lose 10kg, the red jeans may be retired for good.

What a waste :pensive:

My phone says they breed from as early as June, although peak swooping starts in August…

Any card-carrying magpie would know how to throw a hook!

Such a turd of a bird. Fitting they represent Collingwood.

Hate Collingwood but the birds are superb imo. Amazing warbling song. And when not defensively swooping can be very friendly.

I’ve had a few generations of a magpie family living at my place and we’re mates.

Their morning song is one of life’s little treats.

Not so! Great birds, and we have a family resident in our backyard for the 20 years we have lived here. I keep the dogs inside when I garden so they can follow me around while I dig up food for them.

Our Malamute feels the same as you and tries to dismember them.

The reaction of Mrs Brem upon seeing her first proper magpie (ie - not one of those pathetic little things you find in the uk that they call magpies) was actually hilarious.

“WHAT THE F**K IS THAT?”

“That’s a magpie”

“THE F**K IT IS! THAT’S A FKG DINOSAUR”

Genuinely missed it when I was in Scotland.
