Good idea. Except one of our forwards would miss a set shot on goal and kick it Out on the full. Play would then have to wait until Footscray players turned up
We wanted Nick Bryan instead of Warner.
Nick Blakey was an academy pick for the Swans. But we couldn’t bid because we traded out of that draft for Shiel.
Heeney was an academy pick as well. We could have bid on him but thought Laverde and Langford were better value.
Who was the moron who put this game on prime time tomorrow night on free to air.

I was reflecting on our forward 50 entries under Rutten and now Scott.
both coaches reverted to having a game style of kicking to a hot spot due to our lack of kicking skills, requiring our players to outnumber the opposition at the fall of the ball. Unfortunately, we can’t do this because the opposition sets up for the counter, knowing they’ll chop off the ball in the air before it hits the ground. This leaves 1-2 players of ours, ineffective between the attack and defense, which is called the “black box zone.”
As a result, our opposition end up outnumbering us on the outside and on the counter, which is where teams score end-to-end. This looks like lazy defending.
Can we hold our forwards and not send an extra around the ball. Bulldogs will push numbers back and use hands to overlap until free with a clear option.
I think this week, I know it is painful but we need to draw the dogs defenders out and use our options around 60-70 meters, with shorter kicks.

Yeah Naah, I won’t be tuning in tonight, I would much rather stick hot needles into my eyes, than watch a demolition job or a very uneven match, one team who will go deep into september this year, the other, langushing towards the bottom of ladder, and will be enjoying a holiday in september in Ibizia…. again.
I kinda mean we could have chosen blokes with similar attributes. Not sure if any of our recent recruits have the line breaking ability of those three. Or Gulden.
I’m no list builder mind you.
It’s a rubbish timeslot, on an awkward day of the year for people, with a team that is flying playing against a team that has no sense of identity or excitement in its play.
I feel sorry for our young players, but there’ll be Fark all (comparitively ) Essendon supporters there tonight.
