I’d still love for my question above to be answered as to why the review pointed out failures in our fitness department yet no changes have been made to it and why we continue to cheap out on it hiring underlings rather than going after the proven fitness guys like burgess or Russell

I think part of the cynicism stems from the fact that you’ve taken the time to create an account on a forum, which is probably the most negative (IMO, rightly so) about the current state of the club (compared to social media), which don’t get me wrong is awesome and a productive thing to do in terms of communicating to fans.
But instead of trying to have open discussions in good faith, you seem to be soliciting people away from public and transparent conversation here onto more closed off communication channels that you have control over, like Facebook groups and private convos. Very much like how politicians hand out media passes to try and control a narrative.
Most people just want honesty from the club, not fluff and filler.

I thought you came on here to speak to Members (plural) in a Q&A format, and I think a few other members may be interested in your answer(s) to my questions.
Is there any way that things may be different 1:1 vs on here? Was it always your intention to come on here and only instigate 1:1 discussions? You seem to be answering other questions publicly, is there something about my questions?

I didn’t realize Blitz had a response limit. Looks like they’re giving me a bit more airtime now? I’ve never run away from adversity and I am/have always been available to Members. As a member club, my job is to represent you. It seems you want me here. So here I am.

It’s tough in here because of what the club has done and become.
If it’s too tough in here, then I remain unconvinced the board is up to doing it’s job.

That’s way over the top heffsgirl.
Anybody who connects their own personal happiness to a 50/50 sporting contest needs to have a good look at their own priorities.
Don’t try to tell me hawthorn supporters are happier than saints fans. My happiness is my responsibility not some far away footy club or its personnel.
All we will achieve here with the negativity towards Melissa is chase away another poster who has some genuine insights into our club.

I’ve welcomed her comments and acknowledged that.
Putting to one side the lack of enjoyment from supporting this club, there is a reasonable argument the board has not functioned as required - over 22 years - and we find ourselves in a position where we support a mediocre club.
Nothing that has been posted is too tough for a board member to respond to. In fact I think it’s been quite reasonable.
