EFC Delistings 2025 [spec]

Do you even lift bro?

I’d say the gym is the one area Lual is above standard.

It’s unclear if Walls was sacked as it was mutually agreed for him to go to Carlton. Malthouse was never sacked from Footscray. He walked out on the club whilst still in contract .

can’t imagine why we would keep him - all it means is we have another conversation in a years time and then do the same thing then - cut to the chase and delist

Or, you know, recognise the raw talent and play him as much as possible in a genuine rebuilding team.

Brad wasnt sacked at north, im pretty sure he stepped down after they didnt agree to a rebuild

depends on ones definition of sacked.

you could argue leigh matthews disproves your theory, but again it’s determined by the strictest definition one wants to go by, by the term sacked.

weren’t you the one questioning someone about not being in the meetings discussing voss and his supposed off field behaviour, and you wouldn’t be questioning the decision to delist him.

now you’re running with scott asked for a rebuild and north disagreed, so he stepped down, were you apart of that meeting also ?

cos i’m pretty sure there’ only be 1 person who was who would have been in both situations ..

I’d be standing out the front of the pub delisting them as they stumble out.

it is widely reported that brad and north disagreed on how to move forward with the list rebuild/slow rebuild/no rebuild.

its a fact that brad stood down at this time

not sure what your getting at?

( and no, a poster said that list management wanted a new contract for voss but brad denied it, i said the only way they would know that is if they were in the meeting )

nice try though

Isn’t this a player delisting thread?

Take your Brad Scott discussion to that thread

actually you referenced it with regard to voss being first picked in the vfl every week.

maybe Ace should have just said it was widely reported voss was first picked in the vfl every week, that seems to hold more weight.

Perhaps because like it or not we have to make 8-10 changes. It will include some of the kids for sure.

16 retained. Feels about right.

Osker Smartt? Sure. Everyone else that’s played under 20 games should play more next year.

Would normally agree but the following don’t make it in my opinion

Lual (maybe redraft through Rookie place) El Hawli, Smartt, McMahon. Would persist with all other debutants

I went to the Carlton vs Essendon game with my Geelong supporter mate.

In the warm ups, I pointed to McMahon. And said “do you see that guy there? If Geelong want a guy who will cost nothing, and kick 40-60 goals a season….. you’ll pick him up as a delisted free agent.”

He said “your club is a f*cking joke. Seriously why are you delisting him?”

Because we had to sign so many mid season draft players thanks to all the injuries and now someone will have to miss out.

He might do that, but he also currently gets pushed around in marking contests like he’s Davey Jr. That is the knock and we’ve got Edwards and May already signed.

I’ve heard same feedback though from other teams supporters. It’s purely a list spot numbers game now so hopefully we can shed the waste and retain anyone with some upside.

He’s kicked 12 goals in 7 games, in the worst F50 entry team in the AFL.

He’ll be a goal kicking gun a top 4 team.

He has a skillset we haven’t valued as a club for some time - kicking the ball through the big sticks. He deserves another year on the list
