The F series trucks and Broncos will be next to feel the pain.
The subsidies ending won’t stop EV’s, it will at most mariginally slow sales. Ev’s are better, once all the prioduction lines are going will be far cheaper to produce. 2025 is huge for EV’s, irrespective of the luddites and fossil fuel companoes doing their best to stop them.
A better comparison for the attraction of EV for a muscle/sports car would be to compare the Dodge Charger EV sales when it’s out vs an ICE drive train of a similar car(mustang or if Dodge keep the ICE version)
Comparing an SUV with the mustang badge vs a mustang muscle car is probably an empty comparison.
Different cars.
See what the dodge charger EV does vs others(muscle cars) in the market at the same time
There’s a general down turn in sports cars because the economy is crap. That’s across the board.
All true but it is very significant that The E mustang, which is an average EV, out sells the most popular Amercian muscle car. There will be a small comeback of the ICE car in the US as companies like Stellantis are slashing prices as dealers have so much inventory. Some dealers have 2022, 23 24 and 25 stock on their lots. 2025 is going to be nothing like we have seen before. Disruption to car makers, dealers, mechanics and other car associated industries is just about here. Also throw in robots and OMG. Also I think you will see ICE cars start to devalue as there popularity dimishes.
Either way. I still can’t get my head around the numbers of mustangs made at the peak was about 500k per annum 60 years ago. And I think Toyota sold 1M corollas this year.
Thanks for posting this. I worked in the NT in 1999/2000 and used Cahills Crossing about a half a dozen times in that time, so it brought back good memories. I always crossed at low tide so I wouldn’t have to deal with water flowing across the road, although I remember having to stop one time for a croc that was sunning itself across the road.
All very bleak for the automaotive industry, the model Y will likely have out sold the Carolla in 2024, if not it will be close. Next year I don’t think it will be close. Honda are taking over Nissan and Mitsubishi, the future of VW not looking good, too much debt and not enough sales. Toyota future I am also thinking may be bleak, again too much debt and sales decreasing, also only have one EV which is pretty ordinary.
All these new fancy and expensive cars with all their features and add ons, but there’s nothing they can do that my old AU Falcon station wagon couldn’t. Superior car.
