Itâs been bad in some parts for a very long time but appears to be much worse now. My Aunt was a teacher for over 30 years and said that the bullying and violence at schools was a big problem when she started and remained so throughout.
I can handle myself pretty well but even I donât go out as much on my own over there as what I used to but I know which areas to avoid when Iâm staying with rellies.
Although Iâm about to purchase a property in the UK and love visiting regularly I have no desire to live there.

Sunak recently the PM, the ethnicity of the Mayor of London notwithstanding.
Maybe some resentment that many of non Euro ethnicity have risen to the middle class and beyond. A bridge too far when they become part of the Establishment.

All that said, I suspect the vast, vast majority of folks are not bigoted. Its just a loud minority.

In the US Politics thread I have often mentioned one of my closest mates who lives in Melbourne but has gone deep down the rabbit hole of online conspiracies and untruths. Big Trump and MAGA supporter. Itâs people like that, someone I dearly care for, that are really being hoodwinked and used. I was in London a couple of months back and got a text from him and a couple of mates from the Cats v Tiges game. I called them back. The moment he heard I was in London he went âbe careful not to get stabbed by someone there!â.
