The only bets that should be allowed are winners, placegetters and final results in matches, awards, competitions. Gets rid of all these stupid bets that donât affect the results, courtside betting, first goal etc.

A man eating a pie is a deterministic event. Surely no idiot would open a market on that. Its not gambling.
Personally I think the FA are the ones with the pie on their faces with this issue. They are happy to accept the gambling dollar/pound from William Hill yet hold a player to account for this. The player was part of the game promotion - doing ads with a pie in his hand. All just a bit of fun that he been blown up and seen the poor guy lose his job.
