No shots on goal in the first half mid week, 4 in 10 minutes here
Great goal Brennan!!!
Hammers embarrassed by Chelsea 0-3. Lots of huff and puff around the Chelsea box from the irons but clinical finishing from the pensioners.
How did VAR not pick u the handball by the Spurs GK
Maddison makes it 3-1 with a great counter.
It was 100% a handball but Iām not sure VAR can check it.
Yeah, not within VARās remit .
āReferee John Brooks did not blow his whistle and VAR was not an option because it was not considered a scoring opportunity.ā
You can only laugh at the holes in this āsystemā when obvious things canāt be checked, but the things that can be checked are often stuffed up anyway.
The kid is good. Mainly if the system of play gives him space. Thatās not always the case with Angeās high press, I guess.
Once again Everton lead a match and canāt close it out.
And boy oh boy , Wolves are really struggling early. I do think Villa are genuinely good though, going to be difficult to get points at VP .
Absolute cracker from Nunez too.
All eyes will be on City - Arsenal now, of course. But Brighton - Forest will also shape the early top 10. Iād happily take a point at Amex , but three would be something remarkable.
So awesome! Gees the new stand you sat in makes the Kip end look tiny.
Anfield was such an awesome experience - exceeded expectations really.
Fantastic atmosphere, the first half was absolutely rocking. I know locals complain that tourists have taken over and that has impacted the atmosphere - you definitely notice a lot of tourists. But the crowd was full of voice. Early goals help settle the nerves.
The area around the ground is awesome (the walk from the city centre not so much), so many pubs. Managed to have a pre game pint at just about every one I could find.
As for the game, amazing to have 3 goals right in front of you, including a screamer from Nunez. Hard to describe the energy after 3 in quick succession. Game largely died down after that.
I thought we were a bit sloppy in possession at times and they managed to carve out quite a few good chances. 19 shots conceded at Anfield is too many.
The good: Gravenberch is a revelation. You notice it so much at the ground. He has these insanely long legs and uses them to control possession in the middle. He created so many attacking moves. Konate is a beast. Diaz is in super form. Nunez worked very hard.
The not so good: probably wonāt see a worse game from Mo. Szoboszlai looked a little lost at times. I sense that manager may be getting a bit frustrated with him.
Good summary mate! Iāve been to Anfield a few times, but for non match day stadium tours. You donāt have to go too far from that precinct before you are in some of the most deprived areas of the UK. You did well to walk there from the city centre. We were staying on Lime St, opposite the train station, last year when I was in Liverpool and I wouldnāt dream of walking to the ground from there!
Good win, 3 points, 3 very good goals and a clean sheet. Only conceded once in 5 games and annoying it saw us lose last weekend, but overall very happy with the start to the season. Diaz looks razor sharp, great to see Nunez score. Chiesa also showed a bit in his short time on the pitch. I dare say he will start v West Ham in the Carabao Cup mid-week.
Happy for you, glad you had/ are having a great time. Butā¦fark Liverpool and Stevie Gerrard.
Sorry, itās a Hammers duty.
There needs to be a boo button here.
if sport cannot have its petty rivalry its dead.
no ones actually happy for donmania when realmadrid win again
Man City living up to their diving, cheating complaining best.
And the Ref having a lend
Looked like Rodri copped a pretty nasty knee injury. Action looked ACL like. Could have title implications as he is so important to them.
And arsenal score again.
And now arsenal cop a red on the stroke of half time. Looked very soft.
Spicy second half.
Absolute joke of a red.
