EPL 2024/25

Not really my thought because Man U, City, Arsenal, West Ham are higher on my hate list.

Massive game for Forest tonight. Our form is inconsistent. Newcastle and City are in good form but a win would put the pressure back on the chasers with a difficult draw. Will take a lot of work to consolidate a top 5.

Forest 0-2 Brentford.
That one could hurt

Yeah, I’m not surprised. We’ve been gradually getting more unreliable, a long season / pressure is grinding us down and I’ve thought all year that we were way above our actual talent position. Hopefully we can find one last kick to cling to a top 5 spot.

Hammers and spuds play a brain numbing 1-1 bore draw. Spuds keeping their powder dry for their European return leg and the Hammers just being the Hammers. Lots of goals elsewhere,

Up there for worst quality game ever played. Putrid.

My brother is a season ticket holder and has never rated the atmosphere at the London stadium and he said at this game it was probably the worst. London derbys used to be like cup finals.

Yeah, started dozing off in the second half.

It seemed ridiculously flat and played out that way. Even if it was played at Spurs it would have been the same. PL games at home have had no atmosphere, followed by the away team feasting on Spurs. Best it’s been all season for us was last Thursday where the stadium was rocking. BTW atleast your brother supports the same side. Mine supports the Assna. I believe he still has a season ticket and one day I hope to go to the Emirates for a Derby. Don’t worry I won’t be wearing my colours and I know we will lose.

I’ve got most of August and half of September over there so bring on next season’s draw!! I should get 3 games in. And they wouldn’t have been premiere league games if there wasn’t 3 worse teams than the Hammers this season.

It’s the second successive season that all 3 promoted teams have been relegated, so it gives an indication of even within the PL that the 17 clubs that have remained in the division are clearly a step above those clubs coming up from the Championship.

And poor old Luton went a step further. Relegation 2 years running and playing division 1 next season.

Well the worst kept secret in football is out. Trent to leave LFC:

Only question now is what we do. I assume it will be Bradley is first choice RB and we look to sign a back-up/squad player. I’d be surprised (but a tad excited) if we went in for someone like Jeremie Frimpong at Leverkusen. He has a relatively low release clause (€40M) so there would be plenty of interest.

I don’t think we finish with a CL spot, and in truth I’ve never once really thought we top 4 quality. But by God we’ve gutsed this whole season out and continue to do so. Been quite a ride, and maybe still a twist or two to come from a squad that has given its fans total commitment almost every week.

Will you qualify for Europa?

Not sure. 6th gets you Europa ? And 5th can be CL or Europa depending on events elsewhere? Not up to speed on how it works.

Either way, if we finish with only Liverpool, Arsenal, City , Newcastle above us , then that’s a gigantic result. I do confess that I’d love us to finish above Chelsea though.

Top 5 get CL for next season.
6th and the FA Cup winner get Europa but still plenty of time for that to change to a different combination depending on who wins the Cup, where Newcastle finish etc

Found this useful.

Europa League spots running as low as 7th, if City win the FA Cup.

Chelsea might be a step too far for Forest in this end of season stampede for top 5-6. Maresca seems to have finally teased their mojo back out, and if they do the Geordies this weekend I think they’ll get there on GD if required.

Forest though … what a season. They’ve got to be exhausted by now.The ECL is a tough gig and the squad will be under pressure next season. So in any event Nuno needs to get some investment and buy well over the off season. City have their eyes seriously on Gibbs-White btw. So maybe if they nick 5th and crash out they’ll still drop down to the Europa. But me thinks the Europa would be perfect for them and the fans next season. Forest love an European away tie or 8… its in their DNA :slightly_smiling_face:
