And there’s a school of thought that Forest were waiting for the ruling before proceeding with certain transfers, so we might see several signings now happen rapidly.

As Sal says Forest claim the spot. I think the ruling is league finishing places trump a cup win so Palace miss out. Shame but all these owners with more than one club know the rules.

And Spurs go 1-0 up at HT in the Super Cup if you don’t mind. Apart from the first 10 mins its been all Spurs tbf. Richarlison, Spence, Kudus and Porro out wide running PSG a bit ragged. Micky van de Ven follows up with a goal .. different Spurs this. Athletic, hungry and structured (and not injured in Ange’s defence).. Frank has them looking good in the Italy heat against the Champions of Europe.

Bollocks .. x 20. Finishes 2-2 so straight to pens.. And PSG win it 4-3. Tough on Spurs, they had in their fingertips several times tonight. Good Cup final, so close.
Some context… PSG begun pre-season training just a week ago and were missing key players

The quality off the bench was the difference. The side looked so much weaker after the 70min. Great effort by spurs was expecting a thumping and got a great effort. PSG in full stride probably win that 3-1.

Doesn’t seem much doubt that Forest were awaiting the UEFA decision on Palace , but this sudden linking of us with half a dozen players fairly late in the window feels somewhat familiar….
That said, McAtee , Hutchinson, Kalimuendo , Bakwa all fit the apparent Brighton-style strategy of getting high growth prospects and certainly have talent. Kali sounds like the most progressed of those four. Apparently Citi want a buy back clause on McAtee and that’s a sticking point. But even a couple of those would give us a lot more genuine depth and attacking options . Also supposedly in for Douglas Luiz , but he’s a bit older and I’d have thought Sangarê / Dominguez have that spot nailed down anyway. We look a bit thin at fullback and I’d think that’s more of a need with European football coming.
Either way, our team against Brentford for the opener will likely be quite different to the team at round 4. That’s one problem with so many late signings.
Sheesh, Nuno appears to have assaulted the recruiting department with a blunt weapon for letting the potential transfers get to within a few days of kickoff …..

This interview may have happened a week ago before the emergence of four or five likely players coming in, but it doesn’t change the truth that for most of a preseason that’s leading into Euro football he’s had a squad training that won’t actually be the squad shortly . He’s usually quite diplomatic so something has gone pear shaped.
I read this morning that Forest are going on a 90 million pound shopping spree.
