We are driving up, staying on the Gold Coast coupla days. Will get back down for round 2. Our second win. I’ll look for you! ! !!
If past players are going to the effort to join in then there is no reason why a Blitz member should not support the event. This is an opportunity to show up and be counted.
I am shattered about what has happened to the players, the coaches, the club and us as supporters. But it has happened. Now the best thing to do is turn up and barrack our arses off for the team. Keep it simple. If it’s red and black it’s ours and we show the world they can get @£%&#@d if they want to keep us down.
End rant.
Thanks CJ.
Hello to all you loyal people, I used to write years ago under the name of Gisborne Don about 10 years, but as a tribute to the great Shane Heard, I have changed my user name. I thought it was a good time to post some thoughts I had about this ASADA / WADA Travesty. But now is not the time I want to go into my opinions there.
As a tribute to our current list of 12 unjustly suspended players, or the 17 when you count our boys at other clubs (they are always Bombers to me) or even the 34 including all past players, something that has been done as a mark of respect during matches is a spontaneous round of applause from supporters at a certain point in the match.
My proposal is that we all, as One Essendon stand at either the 12 minute mark, 17 minute mark or 34 minute mark of the first quarter if it goes that long, during our first home against Melbourne, no matter what is going on in the game stand as one and give a 1 minute round of applause for our boys who by no fault of their own are able to play this year.
A simple gesture that will say a lot.
Just a thought, hope it can gain some momentum.
Will there be any civil disobedience?
Why are people so negative? Melbourne will be our biggest blockbuster. Our mini-final
Hogan will kick 20 goals.
Will there be any civil disobedience?
If you’re up for it, I’m in. We could, like put a plastic bottle in the normal bin or something. Or even throw it on the floor!

Settle down man, it’s just footy!
Dons to send a message

Essendon will invite all of its past players to attend its first home game of the season as the club looks to send a message of support to its suspended players.
The Bombers open their season by playing Gold Coast at Metricon Stadium in round one, but return to Victoria to meet Melbourne at the MCG on Saturday, April 2.
Essendon’s Chief Marketing Officer Justin Rodski said the club has a number of plans centered around the match against the Demons, including asking all of its past players to attend.
“Ahead of our round two game we’ll be launching our 2016 membership campaign which will build up to an opportunity at our first home game for all Essendon people, supporters and fans to come together and make a stand for the future of our club,” Rodski told AFL.com.au.
"There’ll be a range of initiatives and activities taking place in the lead-up to the game and then on match day and in the pre-match, including a march from Federation Square to the ground.
“Every Essendon past player will be invited to attend the match and we really hope it’s an opportunity for everyone to make a stand for the club and for the future.”
Essendon has called on some of its past legends to be a part of its membership campaign, and hopes some will also be able to take part in the fans’ pre-match march to the ground.
The club is also organising a chance for the crowd to acknowledge the banned players before the game.
“We think it will be important to show our support for the players who aren’t able to be out there on the day and indeed for the season,” Rodski said.
“We want the fans to be given that opportunity too to be able to demonstrate their support for the players, so there’ll be an opportunity for that on the day as well.”
It is unclear at this stage whether any of the 34 past and present suspended players (including 12 still with the club) will attend the game, but the club is hopeful as many as possible will be there.
“There’s still a little bit of water to go under the bridge until we get to that point, but if there were to be any number of the players in the stands obviously that would be a fantastic outcome for everyone involved,” Rodski said.
Despite looking set for another challenging year without many of its key players, Essendon supporters have remained firm believers in the Bombers, with more than 47,000 already signing as members.
Last year the club achieved a membership record by signing 60,818 fans.
This game will be our “Grand Final”
If i can fly over from W farking A for this i expect every one of you miserable fks to come along and support this. I think its awesome. I get to 3, maybe 4 games a year and i love it. I cannot wait
Does it go past The Royal?
I have tried for about 45 years to go past the Royal, but something always forces me to stop.
I’ll be there. Flying back from Sydney to make it.
Essendon will be ramping this up in the next week. Sheeds will be calling our fans to make this the biggest attendance at any home and away match of 2016 (yes bigger than ANZAC day). It’s not as silly as it would seem.
They literally want every supporter there… Past players, supporters young and old. Everyone.
It’s not totally without a hope given an expected large MCC turn up with the two biggest clubs playing.
‘Scooter’ had a great idea to encourage and assist everyone far and wide to get to the G. A call to arms in every town. He called on Bomber networks in every country town / region throughout Victoria and interstate to arrange additional busses to ferry supporters to the game. I think this is a great idea. Challenge to aim for would be for towns and regions to fill ‘one extra bus’ of Bomber fans…
It would be great if Bomber fans in Bendigo, Ballarat, Shep, Albury, Wodonga, ■■■■, Mildura, Swan Hill, Sale, Portland, Echuca. Ararat, Horsham, Hamilton, Colac etc could network in their towns and arrange a trip to the G to support the club in ‘making a stand’. Busses, trains, car pool. It would be brilliant if all roads, rail and air led to the G on Saturday April 2 to make a stand.
Instead of watching the game at the local, let this be a big effort to watch this one at the G.

And if you are a Melbourne based supporter, and maybe you only go to a handful of games for the year, or maybe none at all, and just watch on TV, this is the day to turn up and make a statement.
Are we shot? Are we going to be downtrodden and accept that fate has stuffed our club? Or are we going to be part of a wholehearted, massive rising up to meet the challenge?
Do we support the 12/34? Do we want to show them they are not forgotten?
Don’t just be a face in the crowd. Turn up to the march from Fed square to the G commencing at 12.34 and show the club, show your fellow supporters, show the current players, and most of all, show the 12, where we stand.

Agree. Key also to offer your seat to a Bomber mate if you can’t attend.
AFL and MCC members, make a stand by coming along and bring your Bomber mates.
Corporate box holders, fill your box early and ensure its full on the day with Bomber fans.
Just imagine the major highways to Melbourne on Saturday morning full of buses, trains and cars carrying Bomber fans to Fed Square and / or the G.
Put an advert in your local regional paper requesting interest in filling buses to Melbourne for what will be a great Essendon day.
Had a $360m transaction scheduled to complete in Sydney that weekend. Have just had confirmation the other side have agreed to defer completion for a week, including their HK directors rearranging their flights and accommodation.
Just a coincidence of course.
See you all there.
Il be tinning at Y&J or transport i guess

It worries me that he’ll be having 50 shots at goal…
