I’d keep Gerreyn over Edwards for sure.
We’d be silly to cut him. When actually played in his position, just has the knack of kicking goals (Obviously Edwards does too, but age/height comes into it for mine)

Every time he plays forward he kicks goal. Despite issues with his engine and where to run. Huge amounts of upside. Our second pick in the very strong 2024 draft. Staggered he hasn’t been extended.

The more I think about it, the more blokes like Edwards, Cox and Perkins need to go to make room for players that will take us forward. Id even pay out Mackay.
If we can trade Zac and Ridley, then we are making some space for a couple of free agents, who know what success and standards look like and also then have room for a good draft hand.
Tsellars is a must.
My thoughts are evolving.
It’s too early to make a call on Gerryn, needs another year, unless the coaches don’t think he has what it takes in terms of commitment.
Nyugen gets a contract for mine, but plays back, he can play on the small forwards. We are very light on for small backs, and he’s played well as a backman.

I would love for Edwards to get a full season playing alongside Caddy.

Edwards has shown all the right signs for playing a vital role (creative medium forward: can lead, take a contested mark, kick goals from ground contests as well as being a good set shot).
Poor bastard did an ACL, came back only to be thrown in a totally totally different fkn role (when cracking back into the afl)(changing from creative medium forward to wing might as well be changing to a different professional sport..)
We must give him a proper go at it. Clear off McKay, Perkins, Cox and every other known entity first.

Edwards is more a third tall. May is a genuine KPF.

I don’t think keeping or delisting any of the uncontracted players will make any difference to where we finish next year.

True, but I think it’s about what the shape of the forward line is. May plays as a big target, then Caddy becomes the player in the role Edwards would play……perhaps…..
