Essendon & Hawthorn - Line in the sand

Reckon he had Mil Hanna’s name on a board in 1993?

Not sure David King knows too much about Essendon’s pre-season. Don’t all 18 clubs have a “great pre-season” every single year??! Reckon he’s trying to backpedal from his “Essendon can win the flag” headline from mid-March.

yeah but if their war execution is anything like their skill execution, we are just as likely to end up with 22 self inflicted knocked out players.

lets be honest, hawthorn will come out and intimidate us, sicilily will do whatever the ■■■■ he wants and our fearless captian will go up and do nothing but offer him a nice cup of tea and a biscuit as to not anger anyone.

we’ve been walked all over by pissant mediocre ish agressive sides.
seriously what the ■■■■ do you lot think is gonna happen when an absolute ■■■■ side full of aggression fronts up ?

I’d be shocked if half the side get out of their car pre game, that’ll be a win in itself for these bunch of pretenders. no doubt lloydy will be down there to hiding from hawks people, you know just in case they remember 09.

You do Realise Sheeds gets paid to say this sort of stuff?

So you are saying Lloyd lacks courage, because when we had to win to get into the finals, and keep the reigning premier out of finals, he ran through someone, ended his own career, and inspired the team to victory? Feel free to describe, in 50 words or less, how you have shown more courage in your day-to-day life. Internet posts don’t count.

50 words of coherency is a bit of a stretch

Goddard (51m away), points.

LOL could you imagine if there was a fight that broke out? We’d be like the grade 4 kids picking fights with the grade 6 kids. We’d be beaten badly and the rest would run away.

Just remember this was the same team that let Sam Mitchell do the injecting sign and we all just watched him. We’re a pathetic team.

surely pretty boy O’Meara

tho sicily would be nice, hed lose the plot and belt someone.

It’s sad this is talked about. Being tough and sticking up for teammates should just be the given, not a special occasion.

Watching the interview with Sheeds on Footy Show last night… fk I miss him.

There was a swift demise of Robertson after the 83 GF ( which Tim might not remember from playing concussed) ; also Dunkley after the 96 prelim . Fear of retribution can be a powerful factor.

Yeh you are right. forgot to say we need to be playing well at the end of the year, if we are in the 8.

Nope, that was a true leader leading by example.

Im talking about how he was after the game when he admitted he was ■■■■■■■■ himself cos he thlught the hawthorn players and people in general was gonna get him in the carpark.

Its the afl , not a local league game.

GO THE BIFF

Lloyd evened up for the winderlich hit, who he became good mates with plus inspired us to go on and win…lloyds hit was good, but Hurley was Brilliant that game whose 4 second half goals, led us to believe he could be a great forward.

Lloyd was courageous, not quite John Brown level courageous, but he did what he needed to do, especially as Sheedy said, from a private school background, ball player, to laying out Sewell on the G in front of 60,000 to get his side into a finals series and stop the reigning premier in there tracks, who could have wreaked havoc in the finals series if they made it.

‘Hawk strongman Campbell Brown’
The tough bloke who belted blokes half his size/guys who weren’t looking… wet his panties when NatRat entered the fray in the 2009 stink…

He was an overrated bully

No he has the attitude players should bee able to rev themselves up. Every game is just another and players should be just us revved up for all. That’s the woosha way. I personally see it as passionless. Players are not robots.

I dont mind the line in the sand, as long as it’s a nice one and the players like it cos its a nice line and doesn’t offend or upset them then it’s ok.
