F1 2025 Dude Where’s My osCar

Yeah, really bitter pill to swallow. Piastri was miles ahead when all the L plater drivers binned themselves at the start, and sure he braked pretty hard there in the rain but it was clearly an accident / unintentional given how late the sc ending call came in.

Then Lando celebrating like he actually won the race on merit when clearly he was beneficiary of a bullshit call from UK stewards to benefit the second placed UK driver.

Yep - spot on.
If it’d had been Norris with the penalty, they would have made Oscar wait.

Huuuuuuulkeeeeeeenbeeeeeeerrrrg!!!

Fark Lando. Had the best part of half a minute gifted to him.

All I can say is that those Pommy batsmen better watch out come the Ashes. Hope they like short pitch bowling.

Even max said: “It has happened to me a few times, this kind of scenario. I find it strange that Oscar is the first to receive 10 seconds for it.”

Thought this was interesting;

But the Red Bull driver was still surprised by the penalty. “It caught me out on cold tyres,” Verstappen explained. “I only found out after the race [that Piastri was penalised]. It has happened to me a few times, this kind of scenario. I find it strange that Oscar is the first to receive 10 seconds for it.”

What’s the bet if he hadn’t slowed they still would have penalised him? They were looking for a reason to hand a Pom the title.

what absolutely ■■■■ news to wake up to, im relatively new to f1 but feels like its the same as sporting codes elsewhere, rules for some, rules for others. Why did george russell not get a penalty for this 2 weeks ago when he intentionally brake checked max? Why go with a 10sec penalty ( the same as max intentionally driving into a car ) instead of the 5?

Can this be appealed? would mclaren want to upset the applecart to appeal? ■■■■ me just so angry

McLaren won’t appeal, they still got a 1-2.

Piastri asked them to have Lando hand back the position and they said no.

Fixed for what Max was thinking but not saying.

Lando was the second best McLaren driver today.
Qualified behind Oscar in 3rd and didn’t overtake anyone to win the race.
Oscar pulled away twice before two SC’s brought him back to the field.
In such a tight race you have to feel for Oscar.
Very interesting comments by Max after the race.

Feel like Max is winding Oscar up a bit here.

Max was travelling a lot faster behind OP in that second SC restart trying to warm his tyres and overshot when Oscar braked … very similarly braking to the earlier restart as the stats show. Then Max spins out and stewards get involved, take a look at Max’s overtake and find a way to blame Oscar. Complete bollocks…

Should never have been a penalty, let alone a 10s one.
But hey, who wants to miss a chance to give the host nation F1 crowd their perfect ending in front of the Landostand … lol.

Just finished the kayo mini. Stupid and unnecessary from Pastry. Very frustrating race, down to an 8 point lead now in the WDC.

I hope angry Piastri is faster than calm Piastri.

I love Oscar but he did break and slow way too hard. The telemetry shows he went from over 200 KPH to 55 KPH. It was a really stupid thing to do, and while 10 seconds is certainly harsh he deserved a penalty.

Very harsh penalty, but a stupid thing to do. Just give the brits an excuse to give the race to Norris.

Piastri was the best driver all weekend again and didn’t get the chocolates.

Anyone see Lando cop one from the photographer post race? Was watching Ted’s Notebook, Lando was going to climb the pit wall and have a photo taken in front of the adoring crowd. The photographer slipped and clipped Lando across the nose.

Very happy for Hulkenberg’s third place / first F1 podium.

You’ve gotta love those stories.
