I’m not joking and there are some people who have been raised “not to know what’s acceptable and what isn’t?”
Adults as role models are the problem, you can’t teach or show someone what you don’t know yourself. There are people who actually have NFI, and what is the norm to them is totally unacceptable to others.
Yeah you see, I have a tough time copping that… Ignorance is no excuse for this behaviour anymore. If kids are doing this at school, they get pulled up on it and no adult on planet can claim ignorance to this sort of thing. Anyone doing this sort of thing does it in the full knowledge that it’s not right, they simply choose to ignore that or don’t care.
I hear what you are saying. However there are many families who behave this way, from the top of the ladder to the bottom. Bad habits are hard to change unless you really want to change and be different.
The trouble is these days, there are too many excuses made and modelled which allow kids to behave badly without pulling them up and showing them how to be different. In other words, for people to want to be different, there must be something in it for them for it be considered to create the desire to want to change. Courtesy is long dead in this country.
It’s rife in all communities, I play Fifa and watch some streamers play it on Twitch, There’s this 14 year old Danish kid who is basically unbeatable at the minute and his chat is full of people abusing him, stuff like “Kill yourself” and threats against his family. He’s 14 ffs.
I pay my ticket. I can say anything I want on about the play in field. I couldn’t give a rat’s ■■■■ about anything else as long as the booze keeps coming, I have a clear view of the footy & opposition fans keep their ■■■■ to themselves.
It’s not that far from home.
I mean - even in here, posters hurl abuse at the players of their own club, and then parade it as ‘passionate support’. And if called out for it, they’ll cry about their rights as a paid up member and call you a bully.
There a difference between someone yelling
" Langford you are playing like ■■■■, move your ■■■■!
Compared to "Langford you are a ■■■■ dangling slowly from your own ■■■■!
Same with umpires like check ya vison umpire you’re wearing an OPSM tshirt, rather than wtf Umpire you blind ■■■■■■■■ check what ya wearing!
I admit I was dirty one game. I was speaking to a number of our players afterwards me in the pouring rain while they boarded a bus from Subiaco going back directly to the airport.
I had screamed my ■■■■ off the entire game, but found only when seeing them on the bus they had actually busted their arses off!
Back in the day people would do this all the time, it would be yelled from the boundaries, carried over to the pubs, people would wake up in the morning and think gees what a ■■■■ I was, but ■■■■ it was right, how this is carried to courts and charges is alarming to me, Yes Dylan Grimes you dived and no you deserve no sympathy in the way you acted, ■■■■ if he didn’t pretend then maybe that guy would not lose his ■■■■.
Couple of things I wont put up with, Incessant swearing when there is kids around and they know there are kids around and still do it. Second is racial abuse.
