If he apologising to Kelly and Enright who may have gone through the Essendon process they knew the Carlton job was just going to the incumbent.

A process is only a real proper processy process if the output of that process is fark carlton.

The idea that Carlton have somehow screwed over Kelly, Enright, Gia, et al implies they knew that Fraser would coach them to an 11-2 record and take them to a wild card game.

The fact that Fraser got the transitional coaching role over hansen, suggests that Carlton thought he was a chance to get the permanent coaching role. I’ve posted before that clubs are too influenced by the media/industry about what kind of process should be undertaken to select a coach. Clubs should headhunt who they want, so they don’t waste people times.
