I find this an almost impossible task. I could list my " all time favorites" and there’s a fair chance I’d realise I haven’t played any of them in the last 15 years.
I could list my most relistened to albums of the last decade, and still not think they belong in my “all time favourites list”…because that list defines you right, and who wants to define themselves with the experiences of middle age.
So who knows.
(I started writing a list but it got unwieldy very quickly, while not capturing the essence of albums that mean a sht load to me… I’ll be back later…)
Gang Of Four - Entertainment!
Pixies - Doolittle
My Bloody Valentine - Loveless
Midnight Oil - 10-1
Violent Femmes - s/t
Next batch of ones that get me really excited every time I take them out for a spin:
The Clash - London Calling
PiL - Metal Box
Weezer - s/t (Blue)
Jawbox - For Your Own Special Sweetheart
Ride - Nowhere
This Heat - Deceit
The Cure - Disintegration
I was just going to name a top ten…but quickly realised that such a task is nigh on impossible (well, to be honest, I just didn’t want to). So here’s the ones that jumped out when I looked through my list of all the albums I’ve ever listened to.
They’re not in any particular order:
Disintegration - The Cure
Sabbath Bloody Sabbath - Black Sabbath
Born To Run - Bruce Springsteen
Led Zeppelin IV - Led Zeppelin
Physical Graffiti - Led Zeppelin
Dark Side of the Moon - Pink Floyd
Wish You Were Here - Pink Floyd
Animals - Pink Floyd
The Wall - Pink Floyd (that was some run of albums…all deserve their spot here)
Seventh Sojourn - The Moody Blues

Comalies - Lacuna Coil
Dark Passion Play - Nightwish
