A small part of me wishes Call Me was an instrumental.

Rapture for me, pretty unique and well put together song for back then.
Surprised it hasn’t been covered in the last 20yrs.

No offence, but the Ice Ice Baby of its time for mine.
At least it wasn’t calypso.

Yep, that run of singles they had from Hangin’ On The Telephone through to Rapture was pretty special… Can’t cop The Tide Is High though…

I get it, you were on the MC Hammer team.

Yo, Chuck!

I see Tide Is High always copping a bit, but I much prefer it to Rapture (unbelievably embarrassing rap) and Call Me (just kinda dorky and overrated).

Dude, dude, duuuude!
Please…listen to it again and try to ignore the vocals!

Interesting from Wiki: Moroder turned to Debbie Harry of Blondie, presenting Harry with an instrumental track called “Man Machine”. Harry was asked to write the lyrics and melody, a process that Harry states took a mere few hours.

Have you tried the b-side instrumentals on YouTube? Still a little bit of vocals and guitar.

I have.
They don’t do the song justice.

That was their second album. The first, “The Human Menagerie” belongs in this thread.

Steve harley and cockney rebel psychmodo

Steve Harley didn’t add his name to the band until his first big hit single, the rather excellent “Come Up And See Me (Make Me Smile)” was released from their third album, “The Best Years Of Our Lives”.

Sorry to go all technical on ya, Bob! I love Cockney Rebel and still have those three albums.

Mate no problem.I researched on discogs before posting and the answer is there in b&w so I am happy with the second post.

One of my all time blues guitarists. Wayfaring Pilgrim is my fav.

This was the original album. It must have be re-issued with Steve’s name added at some point, possibly for the USA market.

Have you hear “The Human Menagerie”? It’s one of my all-time favourite albums although it bombed at the time.

Kudos to you good sir for citing “Juppanese”. My copy is on yellow vinyl!

Thanks Hoffy
Great guitarist and I loved him with the snake stretchers. I also enjoy Rory Gallagher, Eric Clapton plus a host of others. Music is necessary in my world.
