I had no idea about any of that.
Thank you for sharing.
Favourite Instrumentals (Title changed for Soulnet, but will now be incorrect for some other reason)
I still have the 7" single in my collection. It’s quite the haunting tune.
7 year bump, from 2017 doesn’t compute in my mind. 7 years ago was like 2009 wasn’t it???
Does instrumental include electronic instrumental music? Something like Tycho?
This album by Yu Su has been on high rotation for a while
Here’s some I like that I don’t think have been mentioned above:
Sharon Shannon - Cavan Potholes
Floyd Cramer- Last Dance
Angelo Badalamenti. - Twin Peaks Theme
Vangelis - Chariots of Fire
Mason Williams - Classical Gas
Flatt and Scruggs - Foggy Mountain Breakdown
Glen Miller - In the Mood
Herb Alpert - Lonely Bull
Enya - Watermark
Plus heaps of good acoustic music released on the Wyndham Hill label.
This thread title
I’d forgotten
Metallica - The Call of Ktulu
- Orion
- To Live is to Die
Rumble - Link Wray
Shambala - Bestie Boys
The Ecstasy of Gold - London Music Works
Einsamer Hirte - James Last Gheorghe Zamfir
Children - Robert Miles
Clubbed to death - Rob Dougan
Again stretching the limits.
There are vocals in this song, but no actual words.
Anyway, this song generally calms me down and makes me feel good.
And yes, I know the sample.
Ok there are vocals on this track, and some actual words, but it’s still an instrumental! Plus some amazing drumming.
La villa strangiato - Rush
Bron y aur - Zeppelin
Always with me, always with you - Satriani
Clapton’s best playing and composing over the last 40 or so years has been on various soundtracks. Apart form the Rush soundtrack, he has also featured on 3 Lethal Weapon soundtracks plus these, the original TV series of Edge of Darkness, and Homeboy, which does feature a couple of vocal tracks, but a lot of great atmospheric playing.
My favourite track from Homeboy is The Bridge.
Victory is Won - SANTANA
