I was thinking the same thing. Our best footy looks a lot like how Brisbane and Geelong played last night. We are missing some of that hard running repeat efforts that are needed to play this style of game every week.
It was a great game of footy to watch. It reminded me of why I actually enjoy watching Aussie Rules.
The other one would be if a big international streaming service (e.g. Amazon) was to make a play for broadcast rights.
They’d want a night GF because it works better for an international audience. It may not get international interest ala a Superbowl, but if they can even get some, it makes the product much more valuable.
Didn’t watch a single minute of the two Prelims and won’t watch the GF again this year. Will be in KL and the wife asked if we were going to find a venue to watch and the answer was a resounding NO.
Been several years since I’ve watched a GF and have zero interest at all
Yeah broadcasters will love it. The ones who will get burnt are the ones attending as there are a pretty decent percentage who travel only over for the game on the day or night before and will need to stump up for an additional nights accommodation. Publicans aren’t too keen on the idea but they will cope
Bring in Adams to nullify Neale, worked well last time they played.
Just has a feel this lions team won’t give up until they have won the cup, they are different this year and they just won’t go away.
If Sydney get a slow start which is likely Brisbane will go to the end fighting all the way, if they go in 3-4 goals up at qtr time I don’t think the Swans will win.
Listening on the radio cuts out the fake crowd noise ( and the ads if it’s the ABC). Last night on TV the noise ramped up when Sydney scored, sounds of groans when Geelong goaled or cheering when they missed.
Incredible how many people need to come to the finals thread to tell us they have no interest in the finals
Anyway I’m on Brissie for the GF. I don’t share the same hate for Joe (or McKenna) that others do. I don’t blame Joe for leaving, we were and are a basket case.
Also they won a lot of games by small margins - because their goal kicking is often rushed and bad.
Essendon does have some talent on the list - but our club is like a block of swiss cheese compared to a rock hard block of i dunno Parmesan the best sides are.
Theres a good half dozen running around for us who just arent premiership calibre footballers
I’m still very conflicted when it comes to Joe. I must admit, when he stepped up against GWS and won them the game, part of me was really stoked to see it. But another part of me was like 'fark off you lame-moustached fence-sitting traitor."
But I do really hate Sydney, so that might be what tips me over to the Brisbane side for GF day, which means I’d have to cheer for Joe in some capacity.
