Nobody is actually saying all night games though.
It’s about a twilight grand final.
We live in a world where if it’s not broken we must fix it. Love the afternoon Grand Final and would love it to stay as is.

Sydney lost the grand final in 2022 and Brisbane lost last year. I think this will be a cracker of a Grand Final with both sides reviewing what they got wrong in their respective finals and trying to correct.
What time does an AFL GF finish, plus the after game show?
The game finishes at 6 or there abouts. Last night the game finished at 730 or 8. Not exactly late.
The after show, no idea. Never actually watched it, not even sure it’s telecast.
If people can’t stay up, they could go to bed. But as a parent of young kids, it’s saturday night….one day of the year.
Excellent. I hope everyone enjoyed it. I’m sure as hell not telling anyone else not to watch.
But interestingly, personally, I’ve not missed it .

Fk, i enjoy watching the finals and other teams more than I enjoy watching essendon in the H&A season

A 4.10 pm game finishes at around 6.40 pm, then there’s dinner to be prepared.
By end September, it’s not that dark enough for a TV spectacle, maybe the thinking is a much later start than 4.10 pm.
5.15 I’d say.
Broadcasters are not going to be concerned over whether or not ppl have adequate time to prepare dinner.
Neither should they.
It’s been building, probably.
I watch every final, every year.
But, there is something about Sydney v Brisbane… I couldn’t care less.

The talk of power forwards win finals is on the decline. Went last night and it’s all about elite ball use, gut running and X factor. This is the modern game as I watched it from the stand last night and it’s a thing of beauty how Brissie move the ball. Their patience to use the corridor paid dividends when Geelong couldn’t hold their positions for the entire game. We need running backs with elite use and desperately need a fit Ridley and Reid to stay fit. Harris Andrews literally plays the role of 3 of our blokes

Maybe the broadcasters could fit in more gambling ads than in a day game, when there is a move to restrict the ads during the day.
The quality of footy played has been incredible for most of it.

I can’t watch an entire neutral game anymore and haven’t for years. I keep taps on the scores and will watch if it’s close.
I watched the 2nd half of the last 2 Lions games which have been entertaining. When they get a run on it’s almost like watching 90’s footy.
I get where Sal is coming from. It’s difficult to connect with games the further we seem to be away from any success. That’s my take anyway
