You don’t think the crowd at Metricon on Sunday will be full of Essendon supporters?
Our players must have had a say in wanting to stay in QLD and play the games there. McGrath and a few staff members being in isolation until next Tuesday may have played a part in the team wanting to stay in QLD with them until they are out.
There’s no reason why the Sydney game should be played in QLD. Victoria will almost certainly be out of lockdown by then
Was half full yesterday
No I don’t.
Pathetic crowd yesterday and can’t see it being much better this week
Just looking at the crowds from the weekend at Metricon.
Swans Giants 2374
Dons Roos 5114
Dogs Suns 8244
Tigers Lions 4119
Isn’t capacity 25000?
Crowd wouldn’t be more than 5,000. Nobody but Essendon fans would give a fat rats about the game.
Factoring in the cost of hubbing the players I wouldn’t think a 5000 strong crowd would justify playing in Queensland, especially if members get free tickets.
Exactly right, hence everyone’s anger at us having to play in Queensland and not at Marvel.
The club should pressure the AFL to go for Tassie. Get an exemption from the Tasmanian Government to fly in and out of Launceston. All players get tested. Crowd of 14000 or so like last time.
Sunday night/twilight at metricon, fcking lol. This will be an enormous shitfest of a game. Slippery and awful.
The cherry on top will be having DWAYNE on commentary
Last Friday’s game with the lions and tigers was okay weather wise, so too syd vs giants.
ROLLS IT,GOALS IT OH BABY
Cool (comparatively) and dry I reckon for Sunday arvo/evening I reckon. W-SW’ly breeze, no dew.
FROM THE PAINT!
I the suppose the one positive is gws won’t be able to play at their best
CAN HE HIT A CHEST?
THATS GOT CREAM DRIPPING OFF IT
I swear you could replace Dwayne with a sound board and wouldn’t notice a difference
Wouldn’t it make sense for us to play GC the week after GWS and then come home for the rest of the year? Why spend another week up there only to play in Melbourne one week and then fly back up there. Swap the Sydney game if possible - not sure how feasible it is.
Good thing is we want be playing a full on night game against GWS where it will get too dewy this week.
All irony, all the time.
Highly doubt the club is paying any costs on this.
