Former #10 Saint Francis, sacked from the Sydney Diocese

I’ve been very critical of this bloke, one of his biggest, but had some humble pie on the weekend. He was excellent. Biggest task is backing it up.

Laverde is literally playing the Ambrose role.

And doing it really well.

It’s time to let this defensive unit settle and play together…they’ll only get better and better.

Not if they can all move, which they can. We just lack a player who can lockdown on dangerous smalls like a C. Cameron or a Papley (Guelfi?)

He listened to John
No guarding space
Played 1 on 1

Apparently

I think it is. One of Lav/Francis needs to miss if we are playing two genuine kpd

At the game I was trying to work out if we were playing man-on-man or Zone.

I think it looked more like man-on-man because the players were actually tackling and harassing St. Kilda.

We still set up like a Zone… and Francis was still on the last line of defence zoning off.

I hope rutten was watching the game today the cats vs hawks, did he notice that O’Connor The Irishman was tagging Mitchell, that’s what rutten failed to do,when they had a run on in the 3 quarter ,we could have been 2 and 1not to be

I would have it like this:

Lockdown defenders:
Reid & Laverde

Intercept defenders:
Ridley & Francis

Thought Ridley was 195cm, with Francis & Laverde 193cm. If so it’s even taller than you thought.

Saucy is correct weight on those heights. The great thing is that they all have good speed.

At the risk of triggering 1600 posts and photographic comparisons with\without grass on player height - it is very clear to the naked eye that Ridley is a fair bit taller than 192cm.

2 of his best attributes rarely spoken about is his vision with some of his kicks and ability to be creative and accurate with long handballs.

Is that with his boot studs in or out?

Thought he was good again tonight.

Was ok tonight. Not incredible but if he can make these his baseline game that’s an improvement.

Was better than ok.

Franklin was his direct opponent and I though he did SFA despite kicking a few goals.

He’s a confidence player, Francis, dominating against the saints have him the impetus for a solid hit out against the best forward of the past decade

He will continue to build from this IMO.

Happy with his season this far

some of the deliveries franklin got, francis never had a chance to stop, but for most of them he was spot on.

the deliberate out of bounds when he spoiled the half volley to franklin was just pure crap.

Toiled hard. Still not quite getting the decision to stick with/leave his man quite right. He will. Just needs to be left in.

FWIW I’m pretty sure Franklin kicked the last 1 on Zerk. So not a bad effort.

What is he ideally meant to do in that situation, not put a fist on the ball at all?
