I’m way more beat up about Sammy than Merrett.
Sammy is a galvanising figure. Loved watching him. And I expect the group will miss him.
And I think the way he has gone about it is absolutely fine.

I mean, fark Sammy but I imagine this was contractual and formed part of his payment structure.

Draper probably just watched that game with dollar signs floating around his vision.
And if Brisbane get rolled with Witts controlling the stoppages his manager can probably bankroll an extra year and more money from them too.

Reading these threads it’s pretty clear what Draper and Merrett will cop next year. Wanganeen used to get booed, if he didn’t avoid it, no one will.

Yeah Sam is definitely the fun bloke at the office everyone is really sad to see go.
Other personalities will step up, develop.
Still hurts. He is super loveable and good on him for showing some heart as he played

We had a guy like that at my last job. Hilarious, always lifted morale in a ■■■■■■ environment. Management loves him, had true “golden boy” status.
■■■■ was useless and I spent hours of unpaid overtime a week fixing his dumb mistakes.
This situation with Draper reminds me of that.

Honestly it almost takes a skill of some kind to rotate the ball that much in a short drop, particularly from the rainman type prep he went through to get it straight.
That would have to be a candidate for worst ever kick.
