It cannot be confirmed because Brisbane haven’t lodged either of the FA contract offers.

The club should know what to offer to trigger band one.
Either keep him or get a pick after our first. To let him slip for band two is another mistake…..
No clubs know the exact formula. They aren’t given a spreadsheet with it all. They just lodge what the offer is and the AFL add their own idea and spit it out.
We might think what the player gets offered is worth band XYZ but the AFL will deliver what they think is fair.
Hence why there is always surprises in compo.
Frawley to Hawks got Melbourne a very good compo (think it was a first round pick considering he was older than what Draper is).
We can’t keep him as he is Unrestricted. We get what we get, and the AFL wont give a Fark if we are upset.

Band two is extremely disappointing.

Yeah they confirmed that the other day on trade radio, was a text pointing out the similarities in the draper offer and the Allen offer and how according to the media Allen is a shoe in for band 1 but draper its a travesty if he gets band one.
They then said its well known that the afl manipulate to help certain clubs

Frawley had just turned 26, a year younger than Draper.
Also pretty sure his deal was around 800k, which was massive for the time given the cap was about 8 million less than it is now.

Still doesn’t make much sense that WestCoast didn’t even offer a contract to Allen, so surely they can get him for 750k x 5yrs as there’s no contract to better. Really they don’t even need him and especially on close to a Milly a year.

Why wouldn’t Brisbane want to get us band 1 compo. Bring forward some $ from his last year, then handshake agreement on the no bid for an academy player. Comes around on the Zac Bailey deal next year if it eventuates.
