Former #21 Dyson Turner-Heppell

How is it outdated? Surely it would have been simpler for them just to keep their own surnames.

I agree with @AnnStBomber . Where does it end?

Each can make their own decision. Keeping your own surnames makes entire sense to me, but if they want to share surnames that’s their own choice. For people to pot him for that is just bizarre.

Just on names, here is a curious thing. Under Thai law, everyone is entitled to have a unique name if they so wish. As a reslt Thai names have been growing ever longer, 6 - 8 syllables. So long they havehave trouble pronouncing each others names. They get around the issue by giving each other single syllable nicknames. Incidentally, the full name for Bangkok has followed this tradition, by adding previous names to this one. The reult is the longest name of anything in the world, it is 180 characters long, and is taught as a little song, l have heard the full name sung once. Most Thais don’t even know it. The Welsh might be upset by this news.

Don’t think peoples on here are potting Dyson.
We’re just adjusting to a new name.
I’ve only known and thought of him as our skipper for a good long years .. as Dyson Heppell.

Why not Tyson-Deppel-Hurner?

No one ever thinks of the kid who has to learn to spell a hyphenated name.

Heppell is going to be on “I’m a celebrity get me out of here”

Unless you’re mixing up hyphens and n-dashes, you’re probably OK.

Coincidentally, Merrett said the same thing to WELSHY last year.

Some more public saga talk just before the season starts, how wonderful

It’s happened with a few of the couples I’ve married. Some have even picked a brand new surname and both changed to that.

Yep. We know people who have done that, who have hyphenated and of course who have kept their own names (which is what we’ve done). There are no perfect solutions, but certainly not something to criticise someone for.

What a cheery outlook, you must be a bit of fun at parties.

Dyson Heppell is entitled to talk about whatever the hell he wants.

You know that’s exactly what will happen. Zaharakis spoke about his perspective when he was on the show and Heppell will do likewise. (While he is teaching the other contestants mindfulness.)

Looks like jay from the inbetweeners in that interview get up and hair cut
