I wonder whether the solution is Turpell or Hepner. Hyphenating really only works for one generation. Of course it is up to them and one day their kids.
in spain it’s traditional for woman not to change their name at marriage and for the kids to have hyphenated double barrel names (father’s surname - mothers surname). IF a couple both had hyphenated names i presume there children would carry the fathers names from both individuals but i’m sure there would be some exceptions. it’s been that way for around 400 years or so. evidently they figured it out.
They could potentially give their kids Heppell or Turner though, so I’m sure it will work out.
IE there’s no real need for the kids to have the same surnames as the parents I am pretty sure I’ve known kids who one got the mums surname and one the dad’s, and they were fine
Of course Dyson is going to be questioned about the “saga” and he will speak about it, including from his own perspective how he delt with the 12 month ban etc.
It’s forenames then paternal grandfather’s name then maternal grandfather’s name
If the father doesn’t use the Spanish naming system, they can get permission to put the mother’s name before the father’s name.
There’s a Youtube channel Spain Revealed where the father is James Blick, a Kiwi, married a Spanish lady, Yolanda Martín. They got permission for their daughter to have the surname Martín Blick, so the Martín name follows through.
And I believe Mexico follows exactly the same procedure.
